This is a $145 fare each way plus tax, available August 15 through December 9, or January 1 through May 23 for outbound travel. Your transpacific flight needs to be Monday through Thursday in each direction. There’s a $300 change fee.
While you’re in the neighborhood don’t miss Siem Reap, Cambodia of course.

Is it possible to add a stop in Tokyo in either direction?
Um the fares in those examples are cheap but they have 11 and 19 hour layovers at NRT each way.
So if you have to get a hotel room in Tokyo, a lot of those savings will be eaten up.
I would imagine one of the reasons the fares are on sale is that there’s little demand for flights with long layovers.
If you’ll pardon the expression, there are actual boatloads of folks who’d pay extra for 19 hours at large in Tokyo, if that’s what it took. There’s a movie in it if nothing else. Strap a camera to your head so you look like a Cornish coal miner and turn it on. The more bad stuff that happens to you, the more hits you’ll get on YouTube, especially stuff that starts in language confusion and ends in flamethrowers. You can put credit card links on the video page and make cash money while you’re recovering, doing little more than lying in bed while drifting in and out of semi-lucidity. Might behoove you to look into SEO. But, to each his/her/etc. own.
Just stay in a Capsule hotel or Manga Hotel.
