United’s New Domestic Free Drink Policy. Is It as Generous as You Think?

United now gives a free first drink to top elite frequent flyers seats in coach. But 1Ks and Global Services members were already getting free drinks (annual drink coupons). if the program replaces drink chits that could mean the end of free drinks for Platinum members. And snacks aren’t included, which makes United the less generous than American and Delta.

American Business Class Award Space Wide Open to Paris

Between now and March American Airlines award availability between the US and Paris is very good. The absolute best availability appears to be from New York and Philadephia, although there is also some space from Miami, and Dallas.

Monday and Tuesdays are the absolute best, there are days with 7 or more business class award (and upgrade) seats available. But in the midst of winter you’ll see strong availability across several days of the week.

An Airline Just Opened a Farm at New York JFK Airport. And It’s Useless.

JetBlue has opened a farm at JFK airport. But it’s too small to actually grow anything useful for the airline. Instead it’s “meant to educate travelers more than actually feed them.”

The farm isn’t even open to the public although pending future regulatory approval they hope to have programs for students, and possibly allow frequent flyers to sign up to visit.
