  1. Yes, I once went to the airport a day early. The flight was MEL->SYD->LAX. I had gotten confused by the date line. Fortunately, my hosts were less than 10 minutes away from the airport after dropping me off when I figured it out, and were willing to put me up another day.

    If i remember right, we went out for gelato and beer.
