If the juice person would have said “it is medically necessary” they may have gone on without issue.

Chase closed some of my accounts so I moved everything to other institutions and I am happy to say that I no longer deal with Chase. Their lack of transparency is not surprising.
Hotel status for me is no longer about upgrades, even for Hyatt globalist. Meaningful upgrades are so rare and I don’t have the energy to fight for them anymore. It’s just free breakfast now. It’s not worth it for me to make any effort like mattress running for globalist going forward, and if no globalist, then bye Hyatt.
We need more stories about dogs pooping in parking garages.
Please stop whining about Bonvoy. Status gets you extra point multiplier, $10 food and beverage credit, and a 4pm checkout. I have always received these bennifits. If you want a fancy room, just pay for it. A hotel is not going to give you a suite when you pay for a basic room.

Your assertion about upgrades has mixed validity but tends to be true with Bonvoy. Go figure.

No info on what level Bonvoy elite the person is. Not sure if Gold get upgrades but even if Platinum really not elite since so easy to get with a credit card. Have to be Titanium or Ambassador to usually get a meaningful upgrade and even then usually better location, not a suite.
I’m lifetime Titanium and frankly it doesn’t bother me. I ask of upgrade available but if not no big deal. It is a hotel room, not a life changing event
Let’s face it, boys and girls, the points & miles game of the past twenty (thirty?) years is OVER. It’s no fun at all any more. Other than Hilton, I’ve given up status at hotels and airlines. Hilton still treats Diamonds very well (but I’m not very demanding). I thought I might curl up and die giving up my United status several years ago, but it’s made no difference at all. Ah, the good ol’ days of paying $306 to fly Continental first class SFO-JFK are but a memory. Hotel rates are so insane that I just book at the best price available and am happy with any extra benes when I get there.
I agree with jsn55 that Hilton seems to treat Diamonds well. However, I still can’t believe they tout Executive Lounge Access as a benefit when there are now fewer than 50 of them in the entire U.S.???
I honestly think that airline companies that are connected to hotels should *Stop* playing these stupid little games with customers.If there are upgrades available for customers to get, then offer them out instead of being Stuck Up-Stingy bastards

The interesting thing is when a hotel tells an “elite status” customer in the program that they’ve been upgraded when in fact the customer: hasn’t been upgraded; realizes that there has been no upgrade; and then asks for an upgrade only to be downgraded while the hotel pretends as if the room is an upgrade when it’s the rump room of the property.
That statement might sound cute but it is utterly nonsensical. Programs know that all members covet upgrades, especially when they are offered proactively. Therefore, providing members at check-in with a card that tells them that they’d been upgraded is a smart move because it’s an explicit form of elite status recognition. Years ago, I got one of those upgrade cards as a Marriott Rewards Gold at Renaissance Ratchaprasong Bangkok and it was as real upgrade to a junior suite from the standard award room that I’d booked.
That statement, on the other hand, is what’s referred to as “to say the quiet part out loud” because according to this site Hyatt Globalist is the only elite status that is “guaranteed” suite upgrades. Now we have a someone giving up on even on Globalist upgrades because they are too rare and too taxing to keep fighting for. Oops!
Ya, I got one of the “UPGRADE” cards in my key portfolio at the Marriott Marquis hotel in San Diego last week. I was “upgraded” to a room in the North Tower with a view of the air condition units one floor below. Friend of mine had a room in the South Tower, it was awesome. It’s a nice hotel with a great location but please don’t blow smoke up my . . .
I stayed at Marriott Vancouver Airport (which is nowhere close to the airport btw). I got an “uograded” email from the GM after my stay because my review of the hotel was sub par. Her tone in the email made it sound like I was ungrateful because “she was pleased to see that they were able to upgrade my room to a junior suite”. So I took the time to find her contact info instead of the generic one in the email to let her know they didn’t upgrade jack squat because I paid for that room. I’ve been Marriott free since then. No more business with Marriott or hyatt and reducing Hilton business. I’m finding lots of nice hotels with impeccable facilities and service in the same damn neighborhoods as the big 3 but for les than half the price. It quickly makes realize these 3 are colluding prices.
