Great Summer Business Class Saver Award Space To Europe On United

Right now United Airlines MileagePlus is making a lot of summer business class seats available to and from Europe at saver level pricing. For MileagePlus members that means you can book these seats between 60,000 miles each way, and may be able to add connecting flights within the U.S. and also in Europe onto your itinerary.

Since these are saver seats you should also be able to book them,

  • Air Canada Aeroplan for 60,000 miles (connections may push the itinerary up to a higher mileage price)
  • Avianca LifeMiles for 60,000 miles
  • ANA Mileage Club for 88,000 miles roundtrip but note that transfers from Amex can take a couple of days and the seats may no longer be there.

You’ll find some of the most space available in July and August and especially from United’s Washington Dulles hub. For instance here’s a snapshot of two business award seats Washington Dulles – London Heathrow.

Here’s Washington Dulles – Brussels

And Washington Dulles – Frankfurt.

Looking past Washington Dulles, Newark – London Heathrow has great award space right now for 2 or more passengers:

Unfortunately you won’t see space like this from West Coast hubs (LA, San Francisco) nor from Denver, Chicago or Houston (though there are a handful of Houston – London dates). But it’s a great time to book business class award seats to Europe for this summer from the East Coast.

You can easily transfer Chase or Bilt points to United; Chase, Amex, Capital One and Bilt to Air Canada; and American Express, Citi and Capital One to Avianca LifeMiles.

  1. I and several others asked the same question the last time this came up last month (from west coast) and didn’t get a response. It is too bad there’s little follow up on these blog posts anymore.

“may be able to add connecting flights within the U.S. and also in Europe onto your itinerary.”

HOW do you add such connections?

  2. @Cindi – search from the city you want to start from and the city you want to wind up in! London isn’t great for connections, since there’s no Star carrier hubbing there, you’ll mostly just wind up connecting to another Star hub. But Brussels flights are decent since Brussels Airlines connecting flights work.

  3. I have been seeing some early summer at 66K for a connection in LHR on LH. But since AF was offering business TATL for 59.5K, and is better anyway, I went with AF.

  4. I’ve been searching for the past month for award tickets for June to August, from Boston to Europe. Lufthansa, Swiss, Turkish, SAS and TAP Portugal have exactly zero availability for business. United is the only option for now.

  5. I checked and Aegean miles can be redeemed on United (and Turkish Airlines) flights only via the Aegean call centre.
