Hyatt Auctions Full Hotel Buyouts, $3,000 Boots, And 100K AAdvantage Miles Starting At 5,000 Points

Hyatt is offering Experiences for bid start at 5,000 points focused on their new Bunkhouse brand they’ve acquired. Auctions run through August 18. Depending on the price they go for, some of these could be really cool for many of you.

  • Buyout a Michelin Key Hotel: Take over Hotel San Fernando with a full 2-night hotel buyout for 24 guests, with rooftop brunches and a cocktail class included.
  • Restorative Couples’ Escape in Mexico: Enjoy a 3-night retreat for two at Hotel San Cristóbal with an oceanfront king room with plunge pool, private yoga class and sound bath, massages, private boat adventure and a private beachfront bonfire with a 3-course dinner.
  • Luxury Getaway in Texas: Enjoy a 3-night stay with luxurious suite accommodations at Hotel Saint Augustine, an exclusive curator-led tour of the Menil Collection, a custom boot design experience at Republic Boot Co., a 4-course dinner by Chef Aaron Bludorn, hotel dining and retail credit, plus American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles to use towards your flights.
  • Vinyl & BBQ in the Heart of Texas: A 4-night getaway for two with accommodations at Hotel Saint Cecilia or Carpenter Hotel, including a Michelin-starred smokehouse pit tour and curated spread with Chef Ali Clem at la Barbecue, a private listening session with cocktails and bites at the Equipment Room, hotel dining and retail credit, plus American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles to use towards your flights.

The AAdvantage component of two of these packages is actually 100,000 miles. Each pair of custom boots in the ‘Luxury Getaway’ package is actually a $3,000 credit. These are rich offers that don’t have heavy bidding yet.

La Barbecue is one of the better spots in Central Texas, which means it’s one of the best in the world, but I actually think that Michelin over-rated it. It’s reliable, and fairly close to the airport (a place I’ve suggested folks visit with just a long connection in Austin). But it’s not Interstellar, Franklin, or Leroy & Lewis.
