JetBlue Locks Premium Cardmembers Out Of Lounges On Basic Business Tickets, Opens New Boston BlueHouse [Roundup]

• JetBlue’s second BlueHouse opens Thursday across from gate C25 in Boston. It’s 12,000 square feet, so small but still one-third larger than JFK. Domestic business class gets access, not just transatlantic. But JetBlue is introducing basic business “in the coming weeks” that gets no lounge access, complimentary advance seat selection, or free changes/cancellations. They literally said last month that basic would not be offered in Mint!

  Mosaic 4 members and JetBlue Premier cardholders retain complimentary access plus one guest. Mosaic 3 members can buy entry for $59. Mosaic 1–2 members and JetBlue Plus/Business cardholders pay $79. Basic business passengers cannot enter even if they have the card. This seems to me to be a reduction in cardmember benefits without notice. The same restriction holds for elites.

• Rove is offering new members 500 miles instantly at signup points transfer to airlines and hotel programs or can be redeemed directly on travel, often at ~ 1.5 cents apiece and when redeeming for hotels it can even be on loyalty-eligible bookings that earn points and status credit (and have elite status honored). Published end date is 8/31 for the current offer.

• InKind is offering $50 off $100 on a restaurant meal. That’s separate from the $25 off $50 that new members receive. Here’s background to understand the opportunity which is great and easy and I’ve found surprisingly useful.

• 25% transfer bonus from Citi to Leading Hotels of the World (1:4 instead of 1:5, matching the standard Amex transfer rate) through September 19, 2026. This should usually get you about two cents per point transferred at some very nice places.
