Man Pleads Guilty to Setting the Lavatory on Fire

In September 2015 Monarch Airlines flight ZB-472 from Birmingham in the UK to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt had a fire emergency while enroute.

There crew extinguished the fire in the lavatory of the Airbus A321, and then another fire started which was also extinguished by crew. The flight continued and landed safely.

The aircraft had to be taken out of service. The return flight was postponed a day while a new aircraft was flown in.
