Last month Marriott launched their first promotion of the ‘new’ program.

• Register by January 7, 2019 and stays of two or more nights between September 26 and January 31, 2019 earn 2000 bonus points.
  
• Plus you’ll earn 1000 bonus points per brand you stay at during the promotion period starting with your second brand.

There was a companion game 29 Ways to Stay for each of Marriott Rewards’ 29 participating brands. It was supposed to launch October 4. Emblematic of so much it wasn’t ready. But it’s finally launched today.

And Marriott has added on to their MegaBonus promotion, bonus points for staying at their different brands.

• Stay at 10 brands, earn an additional 10,000 bonus points
  
• Stay at all 29 brands, earn an additional 29,000 bonus points

Marriott actually has 30 brands, but Bvlgari Hotels don’t participate in Marriott Rewards.

I’ll be curious to see if anyone actually stays in all of the chain’s brands. There aren’t many Gaylord Hotels properties. It would require moving from St. Regis to Towneplace Suites.

And there’s not a lot of value to chase to do it, either. Remember that 10 brands gets you an average of 333 Starpoints per brand. It’s not clear to me that even if you had nine under your belt you’d want to go out of your way for the 10th.

Nonetheless it’s a goal to chase and there are likely some people that will accomplish it in natural course. Although most will likely win more points playing the game.
