Miami Gate Video: Former President Joe Biden Boards American Airlines To The U.S. Virgin Islands — Like Just Another Passenger

Here’s former President Joe Biden causally boarding American Airlines in Miami, heading to the U.S. Virgin Islands. Based on his departure from Miami airport’s gate D39, this is American Airlines 2959 to St. Croix, which pushed back 8 minutes early and arrived on-time.

Here’s a throwback to Biden this summer in a Philadelphia Admirals Club.

Also this summer he even won over a Trump supporter whose spouse he bumped from American Airlines first class. (The American Airlines theme stems from his living in Delaware, and American operating the nearest hub.)

I’ve long viewed Biden as an honorable man, albeit one I disagree with on many things, who did a poor job on Senate Foreign Relations and Judiciary and who allowed his Presidential administration to be run as a fiefdom, delegating issue areas to affected groups within his party. And this led to worse outcomes than I’d expected based on how he campaigned in 2020. But I have little to complain about in his post-presidency, and certainly compared to the current President during the Biden administration.

I much-like a return to normalcy post-political career. Presidents and other top politicians ought to take a cue from former Congressman Thaddeus McCotter who offered the best resignation in history from the U.S. House of Representatives (emphasis mine),

The recent event’s totality of calumnies, indignities and deceits have weighed most heavily upon my family. Thus, acutely aware one cannot rebuild their hearth of home amongst the ruins of their U.S. House office, for the sake of my loved ones I must “strike another match, go start anew” by embracing the promotion back from public servant to sovereign citizen.

(McCotter was the first sitting congressman in 70 years not to qualify for their own party’s primary. Staff submitted fake signatures on the required petition. He was not suspected of wrongdoing.)

I don’t think he should be treated as more important than other passengers on a commercial flight. Here I think taking a cue from Jimmy Carter makes sense. Still, it’s a bit odd to see Biden queueing with everyone else, though here he’s visibly escorted in line by law enforcement. But I really like it.

  1. Wait, why doesn’t he have his own gilded Qatari 747? Sounds like he didn’t take full advantage of the presidency. Did Hunter at least get a ‘free’ jet? Odd.

  2. @1990 – Normal President Trump bashing, par for the course. President Trump had his own jet prior to the presidency. Biden is pitiful and has always been pitiful. Just because he boarded an airline doesn’t make him decent.

  3. I do not necessarily share your view Biden as honorable. For all the talk of him being a destitute senator, the greater Biden family made bank off of his various offices. The primary difference between the Trump and Biden families is merely that the Bidens are merely less skillful at grifting to scale.

Indeed, St. Croix is the locus of one of the Biden family’s grifts.

  4. I was involved in DE politics for a number of years. It’s a very small place. Hence, everyone kinda gets to know each other.

Hence, we had Joe and Jill Biden at our home for dinner. They are as down to Earth as they appear although Joe’s ego is substantial…hardly a rarity for a politician. Jill is exactly as she comes across…kind, caring, strong and bright

Beau was a good friend of mine. Had he not died in 2015, Joe might have run for POTUS and, had he won the nomination, certainly would have wiped the floor with the Orange sociopath

  5. @jfhscott – honorable within the context of a lifelong politician, standard deviations of grift, basically honorable on his own terms not in some cosmic sense

  6. @Tom K – I call BS. Did he or did he not have an affair with Jill the baby sitter? He lied repeatedly during his 1988 disaster of a run for President. His foreign policy as a Senator was a joke. He lied to SC candidate Thomas about how he was going to treat his nomination. Just to name a few things.

If the mainstream media wasn’t a Democrat institution, then he would be nothing but a footnote in history books.

  7. I am no fan of Joe, but can’t we just allow an elderly man time to enjoy some Christmas time with his family?

  8. What a wonderful year America has enjoyed under the exceptional leadership of President Donald Trump.

It pleases me a great deal to look forward to whatever the next three years of America’s return to greatness might entail.

  9. I wonder if Biden still thinks about the war between Ukraine and Russia while he enjoys the tropics. After all, it was his and Obama’s foreign policies that ignited the current conflict. Clinton had disarmed Ukraine of nukes many years before so they had no true deterrence left against the Russians.

  10. Gary you may not be impressed with some aspects of the previous administration but compared to what I am hearing by business associates and colleagues – the current administration is a unmitigated disaster. And this is coming from a lifelong Rep. I am disgusted by the Epstein scandal for one. I wont stand by the party over country not while things are this bad.

Recently a professor I know did tell me Biden did actually rank higher than Trump and told me that history has already judged the two Biden ranked 14 and 19 out of 46 while Trump scored 44,43,41,42, and 45 – basically the second worst president in history. It a published statistic on wikipedia. I was surprised but this makes sense.

Its obvious America and the Republican party made a big mistake this last election.

  11. @Charlie – I think regular readers of this blog know my feels on Trump (which I’ve been unshy about for a decade). This post wasn’t an evaluation of the current administration.

  12. The hate spewing from the MAGAt crowd is as tiresome as it is relentless. We know your ethical bar has reached dirt, but the world would be a better place if you just went back to your mothers basement and trolled elsewhere.

  13. Executive One. On December 26, 1973, President Richard Nixon became the only sitting president to travel on a regularly scheduled commercial airline flight when he flew on United Airlines Flight 55 from Washington Dulles International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport, “to set an example for the rest of the nation during the current energy crisis”. Wiki

  14. I’m not a fan of Joe Biden either but compared to the pedokleptoidiocracy we have now, the man is a saint.

  15. @Michael Mainello

Biden has more competence, class and dignity in his little finger than the entire trump crime family. We could be talking about Hunter and it would still hold true.

  16. No way in hell Joe found his way to the MIA airport on his own. What a boob of a President. Shame on the people of Delaware that gave that fool six terms in the senate.

  17. @Roger

We all know what Hunter does with his little finger now don’t we? All of the Biden’s are millionaires. How did that happen? Is Joe still keeping classified documents in his garage? What a boob.

  18. Voted for Biden. Wouldn’t say he was a spectacular President, but he’s not the morally-bankrupt, soulless, racist, money grubbing POS we have right now.

All this said, who cares if he flies commercial? Biden is no longer a politician. He is a private citizen. He can travel however he damn well pleases. Other than human interest, there is no story here.

Seems to be as much BDS as there is TDS around here.

@1990 FWIW I’d give Trump that damn 747 if just once he would tell the truth, be straight with the American people and exercise good moral judgement. But, a leopard can’t change their spots.

  19. @Roger – As usual Democrats provide no evidence. Joe Bribem was very competent at creating inflation, dividing the country and taking naps.

@stobals – “compared to the pedokleptoidiocracy we have now, the man is a saint.” I guess the only news you get is from the DNC. According to them he was great.

@wileyDog – “…the world would be a better place if you just went back to your mothers basement and trolled elsewhere.” You are confused, we are the one’s working, you are the one’s allowing scamming by the “immigrants” you allowed into the country.

  20. Didn’t agree with Biden? OK. But no need 2 elaborate to the extent u did. Thanks 4 reason 2 block all stories from VftW.

  21. This is just a publicity stunt. He is not just a regular passenger. He is a former US President that travels everywhere with a Secret Service detail. He doesn’t fly commercial otherwise you would see these stories a lot.

  22. I will never forget when Joe stepped out of the car at Normandy last year. He had no idea where the hell he was.

  23. Look at Biden’s mental and physical condition and remember he wanted to be President right now. Scary.
Anyway, isn’t some leeway given by airlines for the elderly disabled ( Biden qualifies) ?

  24. And @Gene appears to have hit the egg nog a bit too hard…or it’s just another day of delusion and gaslighting in his mind.

@Michael Mainello one President has been convicted in a court of law for
Shady financial dealings. The other has not. Just sayin. But, hey, you lie to yourself all you want.

  25. Fiefdom? i’m trying to think how many buildings have been renamed Biden? Biden/Kennedy Center or maybe Biden Institute of peace. Ark, the triumph arc the triumph what is the Arctic triumph building? What is it called? Did Biden destroy the Rose garden? Did Biden destroy the East wing. And now the arc de Triomphe!. wouldn’t be surprised next if it’s the United States of Trump!!

  26. @C – We all know who lacks the ability to think critically and only reacts to the the media.

  27. @Parker – You got me there. Bribem was found to feeble to stand trial by his own DOJ. President Trump can have his conviction overturned, but Bribem is still to feeble and incompetent.

  28. Is this what our country has come to? We can’t have a civil discussion about political differences without name calling and person attacks? For our democracy to succeed with must be able to disagree and compromise on political issues without making everything a vicious personal attack on our opponents. For peat sake – all that happened here is a former president took a commercial flight with his family. We can agree to disagree without being disagreeable.

  29. Looks like the donor money dried up now that he’s a political liability.

Interesting (though not surprising) how you frame this as entirely positive, yet DT Jr boards a SWA flight and somehow it’s nefarious, how dare he have a police escort? What’s wrong with him flying SWA? Btw, he had a police escort because in case you didn’t notice, violent leftists are attempting to assassinate all who disagree with their twisted ideology.

  30. Heh, gotta get to the Caymans to check on all that LLC cash horde.
Never forget the last ride this grifter took on 29001 was to Vandenburg SFB, not simply back home to Delaware.

  31. “that history has already judged the two Biden ranked 14 and 19 out of 46 while Trump scored 44,43,41,42, and 45” Nope, “history” is not able to rank. Humans do it. How did they do it? Was it subjective by “historians”? That hardly seems fair given the political bias of those who have that job title. Or, did they subjectively set up criteria that were then objectively applied (like college academic rankings)? But, again, those setting up the criteria can determine who “wins.” In 50 years, I don’t imagine Biden will be thought of as better than average, probably lower. Trump will score very poorly. But, that’s my opinion, and let’s not pretend that opinion is fact, even if you group together the collective opinions of historians, a left-leaning bunch to be sure.

  32. I miss having Presidents who weren’t for sale too but that pretty much describes everyone in the past.

  33. As corrupt as Biden was I just don’t get uber excited when he’s pictured in public. There are some on the right that suffer from BDS. Who cares if he took a flight. You’d think with the millions he stole over the years (and he’s not alone in that regard) he’d fly private.

  34. I cannot believe the MAGGOTS whining about “the Bidens making bank” when the felon currently in office has made literally billions off his office in the first year while taking bribes in exchange for pardons of drug kingpins, murderers, and the clods that tried to take over the nation’s capital at his behest on January 6, 2020 (using an autopen in the process). All while ignoring this guy who rants and raves for hours at a time on Falsehood Social while not being able to stay awake in meetings during the day.

  35. @This comes to mind – Liberal humans do the ranking and since every Republican president is ranked low, then their rankings are meaningless.

  36. @Tired Of Idiots says: December 29, 2025 at 8:47 am – It appears you started drinking adult beverages early today. Everything you listed was under bribem, not the current president.

  37. At the same point in his post-Presidency, Bill Clinton was flying on private jets. I assume they were paid for by donors.

I guess Biden doesn’t have the same fundraising prowess.

  38. Thanks for filtering out the original lyrics. I’m glad I’m not the only one here who feels that curse words are unacceptable in public.

  39. A few weirdos often complain on here and elsewhere whenever I brigade a post with multiple replies. To those losers, I hope you appreciate my restraint above. I see no issue with anyone who wants to engage, often, repeatedly, passionately. As for the above commentary, I donno fellas, not much to say here. Kind of a nothing burger. Old guy on a plane. Wowza…
