Miami Gate Video: Former President Joe Biden Boards American Airlines To The U.S. Virgin Islands — Like Just Another Passenger

Here’s former President Joe Biden causally boarding American Airlines in Miami, heading to the U.S. Virgin Islands. Based on his departure from Miami airport’s gate D39, this is American Airlines 2959 to St. Croix, which pushed back 8 minutes early and arrived on-time.

Here’s a throwback to Biden this summer in a Philadelphia Admirals Club.

Also this summer he even won over a Trump supporter whose spouse he bumped from American Airlines first class. (The American Airlines theme stems from his living in Delaware, and American operating the nearest hub.)

I’ve long viewed Biden as an honorable man, albeit one I disagree with on many things, who did a poor job on Senate Foreign Relations and Judiciary and who allowed his Presidential administration to be run as a fiefdom, delegating issue areas to affected groups within his party. And this led to worse outcomes than I’d expected based on how he campaigned in 2020. But I have little to complain about in his post-presidency, and certainly compared to the current President during the Biden administration.

I much-like a return to normalcy post-political career. Presidents and other top politicians ought to take a cue from former Congressman Thaddeus McCotter who offered the best resignation in history from the U.S. House of Representatives (emphasis mine),

The recent event’s totality of calumnies, indignities and deceits have weighed most heavily upon my family. Thus, acutely aware one cannot rebuild their hearth of home amongst the ruins of their U.S. House office, for the sake of my loved ones I must “strike another match, go start anew” by embracing the promotion back from public servant to sovereign citizen.

(McCotter was the first sitting congressman in 70 years not to qualify for their own party’s primary. Staff submitted fake signatures on the required petition. He was not suspected of wrongdoing.)

I don’t think he should be treated as more important than other passengers on a commercial flight. Here I think taking a cue from Jimmy Carter makes sense. Still, it’s a bit odd to see Biden queueing with everyone else, though here he’s visibly escorted in line by law enforcement. But I really like it.

  1. Wait, why doesn’t he have his own gilded Qatari 747? Sounds like he didn’t take full advantage of the presidency. Did Hunter at least get a ‘free’ jet? Odd.

  2. @1990 – Normal President Trump bashing, par for the course. President Trump had his own jet prior to the presidency. Biden is pitiful and has always been pitiful. Just because he boarded an airline doesn’t make him decent.

  3. I do not necessarily share your view Biden as honorable. For all the talk of him being a destitute senator, the greater Biden family made bank off of his various offices. The primary difference between the Trump and Biden families is merely that the Bidens are merely less skillful at grifting to scale.

Indeed, St. Croix is the locus of one of the Biden family’s grifts.

  4. I was involved in DE politics for a number of years. It’s a very small place. Hence, everyone kinda gets to know each other.

Hence, we had Joe and Jill Biden at our home for dinner. They are as down to Earth as they appear although Joe’s ego is substantial…hardly a rarity for a politician. Jill is exactly as she comes across…kind, caring, strong and bright

Beau was a good friend of mine. Had he not died in 2015, Joe might have run for POTUS and, had he won the nomination, certainly would have wiped the floor with the Orange sociopath

  5. @jfhscott – honorable within the context of a lifelong politician, standard deviations of grift, basically honorable on his own terms not in some cosmic sense
