Milepoint iPad Giveaway

Each week during the Freddie Awards voting period (balloting opened today and runs through March 31), Milepoint.com will be giving away an iPad to a registered member.

All you need to do to be entered to win is register at Milepoint. And since we don’t have that many members, odds of winning are pretty good.

  1. I think he means sign up for the SITE and register. There is no further “register to win the ipad” registration. It’s a subscriber boosting exercise.

  2. I also wonder whether I’m registered as after you click the ‘register right now’ button, it just brings you to the forum index

  3. If you are a registered Milepoint user you will be included in each drawing. There is no special registration for the drawings. If you have a Milepoint userid you are registered.

I presume you can only win one of the iPads, but it doesn’t say that explicitly.

  4. I’m sorry to hear you don’t have many members… I like MilePoint, it’s much neater than FlyerTalk.

Does this mean anything for the future of MilePoint?
    🙁

  5. I just did the count using the “members” tab- 45,383 members. So it’s not that few, either, especially since the site has been in business for less than a year.

From this article, it looks like FlyerTalk has 370,000 members- http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/mileage-site-milepoint-rolls-newbies/story?id=15088326

So it will be the bigger forum for quite a while. But since Flyertalk has been around much longer, it has many more inactive members- I’d guess that less than 1/2 of those are active.

So bottom line, MilePoint is probably ~20% of FlyerTalk, after less than a year- I think they will do just fine!
