Milepoint Premium United Miles Posting

I’m a co-founder of frequent flyer community Milepoint.com, but I ponied up the $59 for premium membership.

By paying for a year up front, I took advantage of the offer which came with 2000 United miles, Hyatt Platinum or 2000 points for existing Hyatt elites, and National Car Rental Executive status as well as a variety of other benefits like a free Gogo inflight wireless session.

I didn’t get in on the first round, but I did the second time it was available (the offer is no longer available with United miles and Hyatt status, but $3.99 monthly premium membership does include ad-free viewing, National Car Rental status, and a host of travel-related discounts.)

My 2000 United miles posted sometime over the past 24 hours:

I’ve received several questions about when points would post and the answer appears to be ‘in less time than promised.’ Love that.

  1. Good luck getting the average reader to upgrade with these “benefits”.$48 is quite a lot with minimal benefits (especially compared to the past).

  2. Gary – no disrespect – but is this news worthy? I mean you are saying to people, “Hey. My miles posted to UA for a site that I co own?”

  3. I had no idea how long it would take or what the united process would be… this is my first time seeing the process from the other side. I bought in as a regular consumer and shared a data point that helps answer a question I’ve gotten a lot. So seemed worth a quick note.

  4. I signed up the very first day the Prem membership was offered, and my points just posted the same day as Gary and other who signed up later.. So I guess they probably process them in batches.

  5. Thanks for the heads up. I signed up for the premium membership. I checked, and the 2000 UA points just posted last week.

  6. I received my UA and Hyatt points very recently, also. Bravo on the concise post, as well. 😉 There weren’t any anecdotes about it taking 113 days to receive a similar number of Delta miles 12 years ago. 🙂

  7. My UA miles posted Sept. 15. I requested 2000 points from Hyatt; got Elite status instead. (I may have misread the offer; it may have been 2000 points if you are already elite. I was amazed I still had Hyatt points in my account; I guess they never expire even if you’re inactive for decades :-).

  8. I ALSO HAVEN’T RECEIVED MY MILEAGEPLUS POINTS….SIGNED
UP TWO WEEKS AGO …WHEN SHOULD I B WORRIED?

  9. @Mike – as I’ve said the promise is a longer time period, don’t worry for another month, promised timeframe was greater than that

  10. Just received my Hyatt points. Even thought the MP confirmation said “Elite Status”, I got points. Also extended my Hyatt membership for a further 12 months. Took about 6 weeks for them to post.
