  1. You know what’s ‘wild’ about SFO United Clubs, welp, it’s not that salacious TV screen. Nope. That’s to be ‘expected’ somewhat. What is actually wild is that United doesn’t open its United Club in the International Terminal (F) until 7AM, so, if you have an 8AM transcontinental, Polaris, lie-flat to EWR, you practically cannot access the lounges beforehand, because, boarding starts around the time it opens. To me, that is ‘wild,’ and seems to be purposeful for United to skimp out on actually serving its consumers. Most other United Clubs around the world open like 5AM. Not SFO, where apparently, United feels it has a monopoly and doesn’t have to care. Anyway, that’s my rant on that.

  2. You’re not really suggesting people commit fraud and waste others time and money in order to implement some creepy plan to hook up, when you didn’t have the guts to speak up when you had the chance, are you?

Shoot your shot when you have the chance, otherwise learn from it and move on.

  3. @Mantis — I doubt Gary is seriously promoting that idea—he’s merely quoting some random person on Reddit who did so in response to a ‘tale’ that someone shared. If it’s even real, I doubt such a scenario would be ever charged as fraud (like, in a criminal prosecution), but perhaps, if one were to attempt such a ploy, then they could avoid civil liability (‘the waste’ you refer to) by offering to pay for the shipment of the item they wished to return to the other passenger. Again, all this probably doesn’t matter much because I bet the original poster (on Reddit) was just making up the story for internet clout, which ironically created derivative internet clout for Gary to post about. It’s ‘the circle of life’ on the internet, I guess. Bah!

You might think, nice, a non-political or hate-filled post from @Mantis, for once. Yet, I will say, I’ve noticed the uptick in the usage of words like ‘waste, fraud, and abuse’ from your ilk, likely because that’s all they’ve been saying on right-wing sources lately in order to justify the recent dismantling of the government in favor of tax cuts for the wealthiest people and corporations. Yet, you still go after the ‘little guy’ for their schemes (even in a hypothetical like this). Just saying, it’s telling—your mindset is flawed. Never go after the ‘big fish’ just focus on peons. Yeah, I’d prefer if we held everyone accountable, not just the little guys. Anyway.
