Alaska Airlines Starbucks Buy One Get One Deal

Most airline sales aren’t really sales, but this is legit. It’s a bit of an odd marketing play, though, since you don’t have to buy a Starbucks drink to get ‘buy one get one’. You don’t get a gift card for a drink when you buy one, get one. There’s no Starbucks tie-in whatsoever except, it would appear, some marketing dollars from Starbucks to cobrand the promotion.

This strikes me as a genuinely good deal if you’re traveling with someone in and out of Alaska Airlines cities.

Passenger Kicked Off Flight For Her Trump Mask. But That’s Not All It Said.

A passenger says she was kicked off of an Alaska Airlines flight because she wore a “Trump 2020” mask. She claims she was ‘discriminated against’ and has created a website to get the word out about many of the people who have had run ins with Alaska Airlines over masks as well as other, unrelated issues.

Here she is on TikTok, though the airline says she’s leaving out the most important part of the story.

Alaska Senator Can’t Vote On Legislation Because She’s Been Banned From Flying Over Masks

In April, anti-mask Alaska state senator Lora Reinbold – who had been fined for reusing to properly wear a mask in the state capitol – was banned from Alaska Airlines after she refused to keep her mask above her nose and employees claimed to feel threated by her in the altercation that ensued.

Now, with Alaska Airlines her only option for getting to and from her state’s capitol, she’s asked to be excused from voting through the end of the legislative session. Over the summer she’s flown Delta between Anchorage and Juneau – via Seattle! – but that service is only seasonal.

134 People Evacuated As Passenger’s Phone Catches Fire On Alaska Airlines Flight

Early in the Trump administration the U.S. banned electronics like laptops on board flights to the U.S. from certain locations. It was a dumb move that compromised airline safety, because when electronics in the cargo hold catch fire, that’s dangerous. When it happens in the passenger cabin it’s easy to contain.

That’s what yesterday’s Alaska Airlines flight 751 from New Orleans to Seattle reminds us as a cell phone caught fire in the cabin upon landing.
