Delta On Verge Of Buying 100 Boeing 737 MAXs

Mar 18 2022

Delta is known for buying only planes from foreign manufacturers. If they buy Boeing, it’s used. But proving that Boeing will sell to anyone, and Delta will buy anything if it’s cheap enough, Delta Air Lines is reportedly in talks for 100 Boeing 737-10 MAX jets in a deal that could be announced in the coming weeks.

JetBlue’s Key Executive Who Left For Delta In January Is Already Moving To American Airlines

Mar 02 2022

Delta poached JetBlue’s Head of Revenue and Planning in January. Scott Laurence was JetBlue’s architect of the “Northeast Alliance” with American Airlines before becoming Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning.

It was a shocking move. The knowledge he was taking with him of American-JetBlue strategy sent shockwaves. It’s the alliance between American and JetBlue that sets up the two to compete against Delta. The Department of Justice, in part at Delta’s behest, is suing to stop it. And Delta poached one of the key insiders who could help in that fight. And then… in February Laurence was gone from Delta.

Police Body Cam Footage Of Passenger Removed From Delta Flight, Back At The Station Gets.. Interesting

Delta CEO’s Dangerous Case Against The Rule Of Law, For More Subsidies

Feb 24 2022

Delta CEO Ed Bastian as an op-ed in the Washington Post advocating for a federal No Fly List for ill-behaved passengers. What’s striking about the piece is how dismissive it seems to civil liberties concerns and the rule of law, and how little self-awareness there is over steps Delta itself has failed to take to address the problems their crew face in the air. The No Fly List probably won’t make much difference in any case.

I’m Strangely Fascinated By The Skills This Awful Passenger Displays

Feb 16 2022

I’m strangely fascinated by a business class passenger who flew Delta from Turks & Caicos to New York JFK on Monday evening, February 14. You’ll see the passenger with feet up on the bulkhead.

Where it really gets interesting is the dexterity with which they used their feet to control the seat back entertainment system. A reader took video of this skill, and I can’t look away.

Delta Passenger Causes Inflight Incident So He’d Go Viral On Social Media With Anti-Vax Rant

Feb 15 2022

A man on a Delta Air Lines Salt Lake City – Portland flight on Friday removed the plastic covering from the emergency exit handle on his aircraft and tried to pull it. He wasn’t going to actually succeed in opening the exit door of the pressurized cabin, but his unruly behavior got him arrested.

It turns out his goal wasn’t trying to open the exit door at all. The whole thing was a ruse to attract attention.
