Parents flying Delta first class from Tampa to Atlanta allowed their child to place stickers all over the seating area around them – and leave it that way. After all, they probably had a connection to catch!
Tampa – Atlanta is only 406 miles and seems like a lot of work for a child to accomplish so quickly, but apparently they had the process automated.
Airline first class hasn’t been for the wealthy in 40 years. Domestically, it went from a place filled with upgraded upper middle class middle managers to a place filled with people who have $40 or, sadly, people who have $40 available on a credit card.

A first class passenger flying American Airlines from Dallas to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Sunday had a surprise – the person sitting in front of them in seat 2C had an extra special premium seat. The seat reclined more than most first class. And American didn’t even charge them extra! Some might say the seat was “broken” but I prefer to think of it as “angled flat.”
I’ll take it a step further and explain how airlines offering these buy ups actually discourages passengers from buying first class outright (and you should consider this as a strategy to buy first class for less).
The elimination of change fees during the pandemic mean that you should consider buying coach instead of first class.
It’s been expected that Cathay Pacific will call its new first class on the Boeing 777-9 “Halo Suites.” We’ve only seen concepts they were playing with for it. It’s delayed, because the 777-9 is delayed now by at least six years, to 2026.
But the commitment Cathey has to the product is extreme, delaying retrofits of Boeing 777s to retain first class until the new product is available, and the airline’s chairman believes when they reveal what is next it will be unrivaled.
