The FAA took a new step to change the rules around supersonic travel. That should remove a huge hurdle to flying to London in 3 hours and to Tokyo in 5 hours.

Airline Executives Taking Responsibility For Failure And All Offering To Resign
Good executives own their failures, just as they’re rewarded for their successes. Good companies arrange their institutions and incentives so that this is the case – rather than packing their boards with cronies who reward failure as much as success.
Business Class Awards to Asia Wide Open for the Whole Family Using American or Alaska Miles
Business class saver awards can be a challenge using American AAdvantage miles. American rarely releases saver inventory on their own planes, and they don’t have as many partners as United does (Star Alliance is bigger than oneworld).
Finding business class awards for more than one or two people is even harder. So when there’s business class award space to Asia for a family of four that’s really notable.
60% of Japanese Flight Attendants Say They’ve Been Secretly Taped Inflight
It turns out that filming flight attendants is especially prevalent in Japan, where a Japanese union representing cabin crew at Japan Airlines, ANA and other carriers says that 60% of their members have been filmed while on duty.
Some of the videographers are really creepy, too.
One Credit Card is Now Offering a Bucket to New Customers Who Apply
Don’t discount the value of a bucket as a signup bonus!
Along with some pvc pipe, gravel, sand and charcoal you could use a bucket to build a water filter. You can grow food inside of a bucket. Or harvest rainwater. You could even attach a couple of straps to the bucket and make it a backpack. With holes near the bottom of the bucket, and placed inside roasting pans, you might be able to use it to feed chickens. Buckets are also super useful if the ALS Foundation gets the ice bucket challenge to go viral again.
10 Airlines Keep Their Planes Squeaky Clean
Airlines were ranked for their cleanliness based on traveler feedback across five areas: seating, toilets, tables, carpets, and cabin panels.
I always marvel at ANA for its cleanliness, down to flight attendants cleaning lavatories continuously throughout long haul flights.

The World’s 15 Best First Class Products, Ranked
The key to these rankings is subjective weight that goes into different components of the product. I value personal space more than anythnig else, so a first class configuration that’s four seats across isn’t going to rate as well for me as one that’s two or three seats across.
I’d never rate Air France or Garuda as highly as others — despite phenomenal ground service and attentiveness — because of the lack of real estate each first class passenger gets in the cabin.
Review: Japan Airlines Business Class, Tokyo Narita – Shanghai Pudong
I was sort of excited to be flying a widebody aircraft on such a short hop. The 1100 mile flight would take us about two and a half hours. On the other hand the Boeing 787 we’d be flying had JAL’s old business class seats. They ordered the planes so long ago, and deliveries were delayed so long, that they debuted angled business seats. They’ve been putting in their new business, but it makes sense to put the older product on a regional route.
Still within Asia customers in a premium cabin are used to a much better product than Americans are.
