Miles for Flowers

The two best offers I’m currently aware of are 30 Northwest miles per dollar spent at FTD and 30 United miles per dollar spent at FTD. The Northwest offer is new. The United one has been around a long time. Though the latter says it is for United’s top-tier elites, it works for anyone.

Double Miles on USAirways

usairways
Jan 22 2005

USAirways is offering double miles for purchases made through the end of the month on all flights through the end of 2005. Business class flights to Europe earn 40,000 bonus miles (like American and British Airways) and all flights to the Carribean and Latin America earn 10,000 bonus miles. Registration is required, and again the bonus applies only to tickets purchased by January 31.

Facts about miles

Colloquy summarizes the current state of frequent flyer miles: By the end of 2004, almost 14 trillion frequent flyer miles had been accumulated worldwide. According to a new analysis by The Economist magazine, the global stock is worth more than $700 billion, more than all the US dollar bills in circulation. More than 130 airlines issue them, handing out more than 14-million free flights annually. So many different types of frequent flyer miles are in circulation that consultancies have sprung up in Europe and America devoted solely to helping people get the most of their portfolio. Ravindra Bhagwanani, founder of Frankfurt-based Global Flight Management, said: “[Frequent flyer] miles are a game you have to play. If you want to play a game successfully, you need to know the rules.” …More than 120 million people belong…

Gutting another Rewards Program — Dining for Miles Becomes Just Another Program

Dec 31 2004

Rewards Network’s Dining for Miles programs are being revamped, a.k.a. gutted. You may know the program as iDine (what I’ll always call it), and its precursor was Transmedia — the old program where you paid to sign up and had a membership card which you needed to present at restaurants for a cash discount. The program awards frequent flyer miles in the program of your choosing when dining at a participating restaurant. Traditionally the award was 10 miles per dollar, although increasingly of late some restaurants only offered 5 miles per dollar spent and some restaurants gave miles only on certain days of the week. Now comes the announcement that earning in the program is being changed dramatically. Instead of a default of 10 miles per dollar (plus frequent bonuses), most members will only earn…

10,000 Delta Miles Free

delta-airline-plane
Dec 09 2004

The easiest Delta miles ever. Just play the Delta Dash to the Gate game for up to 10,000 miles. It’s a multiple choice game with obvious answers. You’re almost certain to earn the full mileage since (a) the questions are easy and (b) if you don’t earn the points they give you a chance to play the game again for a better score until you do. At first I was skeptical about the offer, but the website is an actual Delta site and it’s quite professionally done. Seems too easy to work. But it should. Update: I’ve already received a confirmation email after playing the game, verifying that I’ll be receiving 10,000 miles. The terms and conditions say the following two useful things: All SkyMiles members worldwide are eligible for this promotion. …Miles will appear…
