News and notes from around the interweb:
- Where passengers connect through American, United, and Delta hubs. If you’re going through Atlanta it may be Florida, and if you’re headed through Dallas Fort-Worth it may be DC..
- Successful cell phone protection claim with the Chase Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card which also has in my view the very best initial bonus offer (80,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months) and offers great earning.
- The Economist: Airlines should think twice before devaluing their frequent-flyer points with appearances from my report that American loses money flying passengers and generates all its profit selling frequent flyer miles and the warning by a recently-departed oneworld airline executive that devaluations drive customers into the hands of low cost carriers.
- Pure awesomeness.

- What is luxury when caviar is airport food? an interview with the chef of Noma
Because many people think luxury in restaurants is just putting a big scoop of caviar on something.
RR: But see, anybody can get caviar. It’s going to sound weird, but it’s only money. Luxury is about experiences that are unique and caviar isn’t unique. You can get caviar at every single airport in the world. Caviar is airport food now.
@ Gary — I love The Economist! Great to see this article. I hope the airlines listen (fat chance).
The chef of NOMA is an idiot for his analogy
You can buy a ferrari at the dubai airport, does it mean it is not luxury because it is sold at an airport?
what percentage of folks passing through airports that sell caviar actually buy caviar?
Luxury is not defined by where it is bough but by how many people can and do afford it
I can see why you link to Economist articles. They used to provide thoughtful analysis, but now sadly they have devolved to yet another leftist propaganda rag…which means that if you want an economy to flourish, you should ignore everything you read on the Economist.
Yes, the Economist, that well known left-wing rag. You must love Fox News for its unbiased reporting.
