Threesome Leads To Nearly 60 Passenger Brawl Over 5 Floors Off Cruise Ship Off New York

Between 40 and 60 passengers on board a Carnival Cruise ship in the waters off New York brawled across five levels of the ship. The fight began after a threesome among passengers led to cheating allegations and jealousy.

According to a travel agent on board the Carnival Magic cruise ship things broke out at around 2 a.m. on the fifth floor where the casino an dance club on board are located.

An alleged threesome between passengers had upset their significant others when they learned of the rendezvous…The brawl lasted about an hour..and took the parties involved from the fifth floor to the ship’s first floor…an estimated 60 people may have been involved.

Ship security got involved to control the fighting, and called in the Coast Guard which escorted the ship back to port on Tuesday morning.

This probably doesn’t speak to the cruise experience in the current era as much as it does to the median expectation for a Carnival ship.

  1. Honest question. Why is Carnival worse than other cruise lines? Is it a budget cruise line?

  2. And sociologically speaking, why do low cost entities, i.e. cruise lines, airlines, etc. seem to be a magnet for this type of activity?

  3. @patrick Broadly speaking, people who have been taught how to behave, how to handle stress and anger in a constructive way, and how to communicate effectively tend to be more financially successful. As the cost of entry goes up, so does the percentage of people who are less likely to engage in the type of behavior we’re seeing here. Sadly, this can be a self-perpetuating cycle across generations as kids behave the way they see their parents behave.

  4. @Chris – my, you are so witty. By golly you really got the libs there. You should be so proud.

It is wonderful to see that academic conservative thought still exists in America. Huzzah.

  5. Floors!?! It’s a SHIP, they’re called DECKS. What kind of ignorant goons work in media these days?

  6. Where were all the social workers to immediately break up this misunderstanding and interview all of the participants about their feelings and why they felt it best to resort to violence?
Actually, I’ve got a better idea….when the crew sees something like this starting to happen….. hand out weapons. Guns, knives, bats, rocks, whatever….then just close and lock the doors and let nature sort it all out . I’ll be on the 5th floor in the casino.

  7. I spent last week on the Carnival Mardi Gras and had a blast. Nice assortment of restaurants both paid and free. The shows onboard were top notch, staff friendly and the ship was clean. I am a frequent cruiser having MSC yacht club and RC in an Aqua suite in the past 4 months. Carnival and RC are definitely ‘fun ships” .Seabourn and Cunard are the only lines I would not sail again, to stuffy, boring, old and over priced for what is offered.

  8. It must be White Mormons causing all the trouble again. Carnival is a fun ship but you get what you pay for. Demographics matter. Some people are upset about not being able to get an abortion (which actually would help in this case. Yes, it’s rational to want bad apples like all liberals and gangbangers to abort their kids) but not upset the most violent group in the world is forced into our schools and neighborhoods. They want to be able to abort their babies but not keep themselves safe from violent criminals.

  9. There was a 100% chance I could guess what this would look like before I even saw the video. I was 100% right. A certain segment of the population ruins everything.

  10. Fight participants: “This brawl is getting boring . . . let’s take it to deck 6”
    30 minutes later
“Let’s go to deck 7 now”

  11. @Wm. Buckley

Libs own themselves. That’s to be expected when they subscribe to an ideology based on emotion rather than logic and reason.

  12. No doubt there weren’t disciplined as children. As adults they just run wild.

  13. @ Tim L – Some break the cycle. Most don’t. The data on this across spectrums get interesting

  14. @koggerj I know I’m going to regret even responding but as someone who is neither blue nor red, I would argue that stupidity abounds on both sides. From the left refusing to hold criminals accountable and denying the critical importance of personal responsibility to the right denying climate change and insisting that their favorite moron-in-chief really won the election, it seems pretty clear that extremists on both sides of the aisle are determined to run this country into the ground. Ideologues will be the death of all of us.

  15. There are many type of people that go on carnival cruises; rich poor educated uneducated attractive ugly so no need of trying to pin it on a certain group

  16. @Mike
Was it a mob of ugly people who did this? Was it elderly women? Was it Norwegian tourists?
All I had to do was read the headline and I knew who was involved…..and I was 100% correct.

  17. Hey Judy. I agree with your post about “personal responsibility” in the previous article and I can answer your question above . . . the same “ignorant goons” that write the scripts for the MSM news readers and the White House. Real journalism went the way of 30 minutes newscasts, black and white television and The Saturday Evening Post.

  18. Don’t worry guys. The biggest threat to our democracy is white supremacy. So we’re fine.

  19. We went on Carnival cruise once, in 1993. It was a 3 day Port Canaveral to Bahamas trip. It turned us off cruises for a long time (10+ yrs).
The ship was old (over 30 yrs old), and it was packed with people (the pools, for example, were so full, it was standing room only). Many – not all – but many of the fellow passengers looked like they skipped on the last month rent, and used the money to buy the trip. I admit, it was cheap. Not a good experience.
Since then, we went on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. A lot better, imho.
