Unlock Incredible Value: Fly Finnair Business Class from L.A. to Helsinki for Just 4,650 Points!

Finnair business class, Los Angeles – Helsinki, is available via Iberia (a transfer partner of many programs) for just 4,650 points one way.

Just booked two business class seats for my wife and I on Finnair LAX – HEL for 9,300 Iberia Plus Avios.

…I should note you it’s also priced at 4,650 Avios + $314. I bought at 9,300 Avios + $184…There are plenty of dates still available and I have hope that this is not an error/mistake fare given the amount of legs widely available.

Availability of Finnair business class awards is fairly scarce. You’ll find the most seats towards the end of the schedule. Since Helsinki is Finnair’s hub you can also book flights beyond to other destinations, priced separately. Find seats on the American Airlines or BA.com websites and then book via Iberia.

Of course you can transfer points to any Avios program and on to Iberia if your preferred transferrable points program doesn’t work with Iberia, and then from there to an Iberia account provided accounts are active.

Like the recent 1,500 to 13,500 point business class awards from Air France, Iberia may get sellers remorse and cancel tickets. So you may not want to make non-refundable plans around this offer. Book it if you wish, wait to see what happens.

  1. a few thoughts:
    a) IB probably won’t treat this as a mistake fare & cancel… their pricing algorithms are dodgy for partners and it could be correct…
    b) if they do cancel, good luck to you, you are not going any miles or $$$ back, and dealing with their customer service is genuinely awful

  2. What @Sam said.
Not even worth the attempt this time. You’ll spend many a hours chasing your money back with IB “customer service”.

  3. This has since been shut down by IB – site now will only pull economy (regular) points fares for LAX-HEL

  4. The AI generated cover photo is clearly incorrect. There are no backward facing seats on Finnair.

And really, picture credit should be noted, regardless of source.

  5. And my main pet peeve – the person Gary quoted said “my wife and I” instead of my wife and me. Amazes me how many people sound ignorant when they somehow think adding “I” to the sentence is correct. Here is an old tip I got – if in doubt remove the other party and see if I or me reads better. That will almost certainly be correct. God I hate people that use the wrong terms and can’t even put together an intelligent sentence

  6. @AC While we’re being pedantic…your final sentence should read: “God, I hate people WHO use the wrong terms and can’t even put together an intelligent sentence.”

  7. I actually never had a problem with IB. They always resolved my issues. (No, I’m not an Ib Troll, lol)
I speak Spanish ,so thus might have been helpful

  8. Yawn. Another mistake fare that Gary gets all excited about, and the amateurs that don’t know any better eating it up. Desperation on all levels.

  9. I am wondering if @AAYYC and @Pete are Americans, who infamously play fast and loose with the English language. If they are, they must surely be driven to distraction by everyday useage of English in the US.
As I understand it, all you need to do is be able to string together a sentence that can be generally understood regardless of spelling and grammar errors, lack of punctuation, inappropriate capitalisation etc. You could even get to be a President.
