Waldorf=Astoria Rolling Out Feragamo Bath Amenities

Hilton has been stepping up in the bath amenities game, making Peter Thomas Roth the standard. I’m a fan of the stuff, having gotten used to it at the Parker Meridien in New York years ago.

And they’ve amped up a bit for their luxury Waldorf=Astoria brand, just got a press release that starting January they’ll be going with Ferragamo Tuscan Soul, which I admit I’ve only gotten in first class on Singapore Airlines but I’m a fan.

The amenities are already in New York, Rome, New Orleans, Versailles, Shanghai, and London and will be in all 22 properties by January.

Is it crazy to think this actually makes me consider staying at Waldorf properties?

Here’s a search of Neiman Marcus online showing the Tuscan Soul products for sale. It’s a little bit beyond what I’ll bring home for daily use, but I expect they’ll see a bit more ‘leakage’ from the maid service carts…

This just makes me even more anxious over what Hyatt will choose for its new bath amenities (though my cry for anything but white ginger continues). Hyatt certainly won’t do Ferragamo across their brands, though I wouldn’t mind seeing something of similar caliber in the Park Hyatts.

  1. “Is it crazy to think this actually makes me consider staying at Waldorf properties?”

    Yes.

  2. You are my favorite travel blogger but I have to chuckle at these toiletry posts.

“This just makes me even more anxious over what Hyatt will choose for its new bath amenities (though my cry for anything but white ginger continues).” lol

  3. I would prefer that the W A Roosevelt New Orleans spend their money on plumbing such as increased hot water and water pressure. Fancy soap is wasted otherwise.

  4. Totally agree on the white ginger. I always bring my own stuff when I’m staying at a Hyatt because of the white ginger.

Though they did have Molton Brown in my suite at The Churchill last week. I wish they’d roll that out across all Hyatt’s, but I know that it won’t happen.

  5. We were at the W A Trianon Palace this summer, and they had the Ferragamo products. No complaints about the quality, but it was a bit surprising to find Italian bath amenities. You’d think there would be plenty of French options!

  6. I don’t like the Peter Thomas Ross stuff at all, except for the shampoo and conditioner. The body wash smells like a bad lemon and the scrubby soap bar is so disproportionately shaped, it’s really a pain.

Intercontinental’s Elemis products are the ultimate. The Conrad in Bangkok and Hong Kong were using them, why can’t Hilton they just switch to those? I ***love*** Elimus shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and the incredible body-lotion.

Hilton’s previous soap products (Crabtree) were quite acceptable with a distinctive odor, I knew I was at the Hilton and proud to have booked the room.

My opinion…..I think Peter Thomas Ross products are a downgrade, and it can affect customers staying at the hotels…..like me.

  7. @ED funny thing, Elemis is popular sure but I’m not a fan of the stuff at all, it doesn’t give me a sense of clean. Rather a residue feel. Wasn’t a fan of Crabtree & Evelyn and I do consider Peter Thomas Roth an upgrade. Different strokes, perhaps better hotels should stock alternative amenities, and some of them do (Ritz Carlton for instance, even some Hyatts).
