Woman Throws Water On TSA, Rushes The Checkpoint, And Makes A Break For The Airport Train

Around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening a woman approached TSA screening at Pittsburgh airport, through water on a TSA employee when asked for her ID, and then ran through the checkpoint.

Police rushed her and subdued her. She broke free, “started fighting with them and ran for the airport train” but was detained again. Reportedly “no officers were injured” in the melee.

The woman was charged with “disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal trespass,” this last because she wasn’t actually a ticketed passenger. Officers still don’t know what she was up to.

It’s hardly the first mild assault on TSA. An 82 year old grandmother hit a TSA screener in the arm after they confiscated her Bath & Body Works hand gel. She hadn’t realized she was limited to liquids less than 3.4 ounces, acknowledged she was wrong, and offered to apologize – an offer that was refused in favor of charging her with assault.

Meanwhile actor Judge Rheinhold, best known for his performances in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, was arrested at a TSA checkpoint for merely taking off his shirt and cursing at screeners. So actually throwing water at TSA screeners would be worse than that – though neither is as embarassing as being being caught in the bathroom by Phoebe Cates in the most famous scene from Fast Times At Ridgemont High.

Of course TSA screeners themselves have run through the airport themselves engaging in disorderly conduct, albeit without facing charges.

  1. WOW, and to think I wasted my time reading the story and these grammar cops comments.
I didn’t write this, I used voice recognition so there!
    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!

  2. I’d like to thank the other commenters for proper use of grammar. If you want to be a writer please, please, please grasp the English language.

  3. What a terribly written article. Complete waste of time reading what seems more like a defense of these horrendous acts of aggression against the very people just doing their jobs to keep the public safe. Thanks for your expertise, “author”

  4. In the spirit of the above comments – nobody caught “Fast Times From Ridgemont High”?
    (It’s ‘At’, not ‘From’.)

  5. View From Wing, I was suspicious your are left wing, so I looked at your logo and my suspicion was validated

  6. Actually the old lady wasn’t in the wrong. You can have up to 12 oz of hand gel in your carry on. Including a 12 oz bottle.

  7. You are a writer, for a living??? And are your articles edited by anyone? Wow! The spelling errors and typos!

  8. The hand gel was confiscated in June 2017, long before the revised hand sanitizer rule was pit into effect.

  9. I’m going to leave a mature response because the other folks missed the point of this article. First to the writer of this article. It’s TSA officers, not agents or employees. We swore to take an oath so we are federal officers. We are here to protect the traveling public, not put up with your nonsense. We extend the courtesy to help you through our checkpoints so you can travel safely to your families. During these times a little respect goes a long way. Have a blessed day.

  10. You know I thought it was funny throw was misspelled, and I thought the fragment sentences were cute, however it didn’t stop there. Thankfully reading through the comments has saved me from going irate and leaving a destructive critique.

This article is garbage so I’m not going to leave a constructive comment either, so instead I’ll leave a rocket ship for everyone to enjoy, thank you.

  13. They lost me at THROUGH, also. There are songs all over my town to SUPPORT PUBLIC EDUCATION. It has not been doing its job for decades. It is so sad that journalism in every form lacks the integrity of proper English.
