9999 Delta Miles with an Avis or Budget Rental

It’s a pretty rich offer. Book the car using the Delta.com Car Search Engine.

Offer is valid until August 1, 2008 for rentals of one day or longer at participating airport locations in the United States and Canada. The bonus can be earned up to 3 times. And don’t add any other AWD number (Avis) or BCD number (budget) to the reservation.

  1. Wow, that’s an amazing deal! It’s time for me to get involved in the SkyMiles program, I think….

  2. the rates with this offer are breathtaking (as in bad). i tested a few airports and few dates and the rates are double and triple the regular rates.

    example:

IAH (typically a very inexpensive place to rent a car):
    7/26-7/27 (sat night stay), midsize

    my corporate rate $37.25
    no AWD $56.99
    avis with this offer $77.24
    budget with this offer $74.64

  3. edited to add:

the same dates above at EWR were $132 and $125 for a one-day airport rental with a saturday night stay. i do hope they are kidding.

  4. agreed the rates are not good.. but i have 3 DCA rentals that are ~ $38 all-in (high 20s + taxes and fees)

  5. Is the Avis/Budget car rental group doing so poorly in this economy that they need to throw miles at prospective renters?

(I’d assume they got a good deal on those miles from Delta, too)

  6. Thanks for posting this, Gary. I had to book a car for that last Saturday night of the month in OAK, and I’m glad I saw your post before I did it.

Contrary to other experiences above, the rates were much better. $26 a day plus tax for a compact at Budget and nothing lower than $40 a day anywhere else.

  7. Around $77 seems to be the rate during the week. and around $35 for a weekend rent.

  8. that’s shocking. i tested a whole host of cities that usually have very low rates (MSP, IAH, etc.) and the rates were double/triple what i expected. congrats.
