Another Free Starbucks Star!

I was genuinely surprised last week by the positive reaction when I posted about a possible 15 free Starbucks ‘stars’.

Then when I followed up that – after some initial hiccups entering the codes — the deal was working.

And finally when 10 more stars were uncovered that could be added to an account.

Starbucks is back officially this time with a free Star opportunity.

Log into your account and scroll to the bottom of the page.

The first task was a couple of clicks to download their ‘global responsibility’ report.

Then I merely had to go back to the front page and enter my email address for them to send me a claim code.

30 Stars in a year earns ‘Gold’ status, which doesn’t get you much:

But a Gold member earns a free drink after 12 Stars. They don’t award a credit (“Star”) based on the number of items you purchase. Instead they award a credit — towards achieving status, retaining status, and getting your next free drink — for each swipe of the card. So if you’re buying two drinks, pay for them ‘separately’ with the same Starbucks card. Three drinks? Pay with three separate swipes. You’ll earn free drinks faster.

  1. Has anyone managed to get these to credit to a non-US account? Even using a VPN it didn’t want to work for me.

  2. Love the free star – thanks for posting.

Beware that the caffeine-deprived people in line behind you are not thrilled with your pay separately for each item plan!

  3. Starbucks has to have one of the worst loyalty programs in the world. You need to earn status before you can start getting 1in12 drinks free? Really?

  4. The Starbucks loyalty program has devalued almost as much as AA’s.

Still, I find myself there fairly often, so free stars are always welcome. Free is free, it took about five seconds.

  5. No offer for me (a Gold member)either….

Last week, I did get a couple of the Star codes to work, for 10 extra stars total. The other two codes have never worked for me.

  6. If you have several family accounts, note that you can earn a star for each, have them emailed, and then apply them all to the same account (max 2 per day) if you wish. Especially useful if you’re trying to get up to Gold status or round off at a dozen-star increment for another free item.

Similar single-star offers appear at the bottom of the main page when you log in fairly regularly (a few times per year).

  7. Could not get the code using Chrome, but logged in using Firefox and my Rewards page looked totally different, including the link for the code! Try it out!

  8. Thanxz so much if you would NOT of called that to my attention i would have never scrolled and looked!
    1 more star-Gotta love it!

  9. @candace, thanks for the info, Samething here with chrome I get nothing, logged in with IE and the page is totally different! In IE I got a bunch of badges, extra cups and the offer to get a free star. What is starbucks owned by microsoft or something? Are they punishing people who use chrome? Thanks
