Up to 5000 Bonus American Miles on Top of Normal Earning for 3 Day Avis Rentals

You can earn 2500 or 5000 bonus miles on top of usual rental car eearnings when crediting Avis or Budget rentals to American AAdvantage through rentals beginning October 15.

  • 2500 bonus miles for 3+ day rentals of subcompact or above
  • 5000 bonus miles for 3+ day rentals of “Luxury (car group H), Convertible (car group K), Premium SUV (car group L), Standard Elite SUV (car group S), Minivan (car group V), and Full Size SUV (car group Z)”

The offer is valid at participating Avis airport locations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Caribbean. Other coupons and promotions vote the bonus offer.

Earning with Avis and Budget varies by elite status and as an Executive Platinum a flat 1250 miles even on one day rentals is generous.

After writing this blog for 14 years, if there’s one thing I know it’s that almost no one cares about car rentals. And I continue to believe that this is a mistake, at least along certain margins. And not only when you can earn 9,999 Delta SkyMiles per one-day rental either.

  1. You can earn more on the rental van from many flights these days. Unfortunately I have to use the code my corporate AWD number so this doesn’t help me. Thanks for the details though, helpful!

  2. As an EXP renting solely from Avis, would you recommend crediting my rentals to AA rather than Avis (because it IS an either/or thing, yeah)? After around 20 rental days, I only have 1300ish Avis points, which sure doesn’t go very far.

  4. Do you NEED to use the AA AWD for this promotion? I’ve read the T&C’s and while it does appear to indicate that, there have been plenty of promotions in the past that are written in the same way but did not require the AA AWD to earn bonus miles. Anyone try it out yet?
