Starwood’s fall promotion is More For You which will give you double points on weekday stays and triple points on stays that include a Friday or Saturday (Thursday or Friday in the Middle East) between September 12 and December 18th once you register and stay two or more nights with the chain. Registration won’t open until September 12.

The promotion isn’t super-exciting, it’s an also-ran, but bonus points are better than no bonus points.

It’s not enough to suggest moving your stays to Starwood. In fact, the summer promotion – also relatively weak – at least gave 1000 bonus points for those weekend stays on top of double points which, for most stays, was marginally more points (and it also gave more points at Sheratons). And last winter they at least had threshold bonuses on top of double points to juice the earnings.

But fear not, there’s at least something fun.

You can’t register for the promotion until September 12, but every day through September 11 you can enter to win 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 points or a free night. There’s also a drawing for a grand prize of 5 nights or 50,000 points that you’re entered into each time you play.

All you have to do is enter your Starwood number and ‘pick a card’ that represents one of Starwood’s brands.

Of the first 5 responses on Flyertalk, 3 people won 1000 points and 2 people won 5000 points. I didn’t win. But you’re darned straight I’ll be back tomorrow.
