Police Say Peeing All Over the Plane Isn’t What Got This Man Arrested
The San Luis Obispo Tribune carries what may be the best headline ever about a Spirit Airlines flight from Fort Myers, Florida to Detroit on Thursday night: “He reeked of alcohol and peed all over the plane. But that’s not what got him arrested, police say”
The man reportedly drank at the airport prior to his flight. He “nodded off in a chair by his gate” but things began to go downhill when he woke up. A gate agent walked by and smelled alcohol but allowed him to board anyway. That’s always a good idea.

Two 777s Hit at New York JFK Today
Bad weather, busy backed up airports, perhaps confusion reigns. And today a China Southern and a Kuwait Airways 777 hit with tails striking each other.
Woman Flies By Herself on Regional Jet, Internet Explodes
A woman shared her experience this week on Reddit in a post that’s garnered over 5000 comments and 130,000 ‘up votes’.
She was flying from New York to DC in what looks to me to be either an Embraer ERJ-140 or 145. With plenty of cancellations due to weather, lots of passengers being re-accommodated, the plane was expected to be empty.
Wide Open Singapore Airlines Business Class Awards to Europe
Last year Singapore Airlines started flying their new Airbus A350s Houston – Manchester in the U.K. five times a week.
Right now there’s good award availability for two passengers in business class in March, April, and then again July through end of schedule.
Fare Alert: Business Class Roundtrip to Singapore Less Than $2000
Star Alliance airlines ANA and United — with flights within North America sometimes on Air Canada — are offering business class roundtrips between Toronto or Vancouver and Singapore for less than $2000.
It’s a great opportunity to see Singapore, one of my favorite cities — or to use it as a jumping off point for visiting other cities in Asia. And the deal is good enough that it may make sense to position to Canada for this fare.
