10% Rebate on Most Hyatt Redemptions for Co-Brand Cardmembers, July 1 – September 2

I receive compensation for content and many links on this blog. Citibank is an advertising partner of this site, as is American Express, Chase, Barclays and Capital One. Any opinions expressed in this post are my own, and have not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by my advertising partners. I do not write about all credit cards that are available -- instead focusing on miles, points, and cash back (and currencies that can be converted into the same). The World Of Hyatt Credit Card

Like 2018, 2017, 2016 and in 2015, Hyatt is offering co-brand credit card cardmembers a rebate on points redeemed.

They’re giving all Hyatt cardmembers 10% back on redemptions made between July 1 and September 2, 2019. Registration is required by July 15, and Avis car rental certificate redemptions and points transferred to airline miles aren’t eligible. The rebate applies to free night awards, cash and points awards, room upgrades, dining and spa services, Exhale classes and spa therapies, and FIND experiences.

Two years ago there was a three month period for the 10% rebate. The year before it was nearly four months. And in 2015 it was nearly 5 months and a 20% rebate. Since last year the offer hasn’t been as generous as in the past, but it’s certainly welcome.

It’s worth registering now. They promise rebates will post 6-8 weeks after redemption, however in the past they’ve posted more quickly than that for me.

Park Hyatt Sydney

Crucially you do not have to have had the Hyatt co-brand card prior to the start of the promotion to register and become eligible, if you get The World Of Hyatt Credit Card prior to registration cut-off and register you’ll still be eligible for the rebate. And pre-existing award reservations count for this promotion, there’s no need to cancel and rebook.

This offer makes transfers to Hyatt — already the best hotel partner use of Ultimate Rewards points — an even better use of your Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Ink Business Preferred Credit Card, and other eligible Chase card points.

Park Hyatt Hadahaa Maldives

I don’t have major award stays to make over the next few months, but at the margin this offer will encourage me to gift some award nights during the promotion period, considering Hyatt’s benefit where top tier elites booking awards for friends gift their status for the stay to those friends.

Even with this rebate remember that it’s never a good idea to spend your points in-hotel on dining or spa.

Terms and conditions:

This promotion is valid only for Hyatt Credit Cardmembers and World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers who register for the promotion between June 14, 2019 and July 15, 2019. To qualify for this offer, account must be open at the time of fulfillment. Only points redeemed between July 1, 2019 and September 2, 2019 will be eligible for this promotion. If a redemption is connected to a stay, the entire stay must be completed by September 2, 2019. You will receive 10% Bonus Points back on the World of Hyatt points you redeem for free night awards, Points + Cash stays, room upgrades, dining and spa services, Exhale classes and spa therapies, and FIND experiences during this period. Points redeemed for Avis car rental certificates or points transferred to airline partners are not eligible for this promotion.

Please allow 6-8 weeks after your point redemption has been completed for your Bonus Points to be loaded into your World of Hyatt account.

For details on redeeming World of Hyatt points, please visit worldofhyatt.com and see the World of Hyatt terms and conditions, available at worldofhyatt.com/terms.

Points redeemed for a Points + Cash award will be taken out of your World of Hyatt account at the time of booking. Any paid portion of a Points + Cash award will be charged directly to the member by the hotel at the time of checkout. Refer to worldofhyatt.com for complete terms and conditions of the World of Hyatt program.

Hyatt reserves the right to alter or withdraw this promotion with a suitable substitute offer of equal value (if legally required) at any time due to actual circumstances. This promotion is subject to the items and conditions of World of Hyatt at worldofhyatt.com/terms.

Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, the stated benefits and services. Bonus points will post directly to your World of Hyatt account and will not appear on your credit card statement.

  1. I booked a stay with points and cash about a week ago at the Hyatt Regency Sonoma. My question is if it will be ok to cancel the reservation and rebook it with the promotion.
There is no penalty for cancellation up to 48h prior to
    Thank you as always

  2. Yup, on July 1 I’m going to cancel my award booked yesterday and rebook! It’d just be so much easier if they’d issue me the points back rather than having me cancel and rebook.

  3. @KayKay and @ Robert – No need to cancel and re-book. Pre-existing reservations qualify. Gary addresses this in the article above. It’s in the paragraph just below the photo of the Sydney Opera House.
