50% Off: Business Class Awards to Europe From Just 17,000 Miles

Iberia is offering 50% off award bookings if you ticket by February 10 and travel between February 1 and April 15. This works for all cabins including business class as long as you’re traveling on Iberia. That means business class between the US and Spain from just 17,000 miles each way.

The promotion prices automatically (there’s no promotion page apparently, per Travel With Massi.

Hat tip for this offer to One Mile at a Time who points out that the promotion is available to accounts with an address in Spain, however “anecdotally if you change the address on file on your Iberia Plus account (it could be to a hotel or whatever), log out of your account, and log back in, you should find that you’re eligible for the promotion.”

Iberia is a oneworld airline based in Spain with an underrated fully flat business class product. They’re owned by IAG, the same airline that owns British Airways, and they’re a oneworld partner of American Airlines.

The great thing about Iberia is that when you use Iberia Avios to redeem for Iberia flights they charge fewer miles than British Airways or American does and they do not add usurious fuel surcharges.

Chase and American Express points transfer directly to Iberia. British Airways points transfer to Iberia as well provided your Iberia account has been open 90 days or longer and has earned even one point.

  1. The ethics of the suggestion to fraudulently change your home address to one in Spain is, at best, dubious… especially from a “thought leader”.

  2. @Ron, One could also question the ethics of charging different prices based on a person’s address.

  3. @ron – I guess it is a sign of the new trump era..there is.no such thing as ethics anymore.

  4. Poor ethics crosses both sides of the aisle @sadstateofournation –just ask Bill and Hillary Clinton!!

  5. If changing your address to take advantage of a actual promotion that is being offered tis the most egrigious ethical decisions you have made during your lifetime then I willl give you a pass..

  6. Found something new to which President Trump can be blamed. I think he caused this cold snap too

  7. Really. The Trump/Clinton pissing match goes on even here. How ’bout you all STFU. Really. Enough.

  8. USELESS for Business class booking . Tried every date possible from every Iberia gateway in USA. No availability whatsoever on IB metal over the water. Period. Economy yes but NO business. This is classic bait.

  9. Please people, what does Trump or the Clintons have to do with this. Stay on topic, please. Yes, question the risk and morals of faking an address in order to save points, but please take the politics and insults some place else.

  10. Again I just want reiterate that this is BAIT BAIT BAIT by Iberia. I have a resident address in Spain on my IB avois account and ever since this so called 50% OFF business class rewards was first published , I jumped on it straight away and NOT ONE seat was available on IB’s website in business on ANY date from ANY of IB gateways to/from USA. Shame on you Iberia! and to the bloggers that relayed this fake info. You should do your homework more assiduously before going public with fake news

  11. EU law and regulations require all EU citizens to be treated equally. That means if you are Irish living in Dublin, EU law requires you to be treated the same way as if you are Irish and live in Spain. As Iberia are flouting the law, what is the ethical problem in forcing them to comply by re-reregistering from Dublin to Madrid? Of course, if you are an American, the ethical equation is quite different.

  12. One Mile At A Time, should have done a bit of homework before posting this fake bait from Iberia, getting everyone excited about something that does not exist. From the very day this was posted I spent hours trying to find one seat from any of Iberia’s destinations in the USA to Spain in business class on Any date in either direction. All results on their USA website AND Spanish website said
” not available”. This is pure bait. Shame on Iberia . And OMAAT do your homework first!
