News and notes from around the interweb:
- 500 free Virgin America points just for entering name and account information. And Virgin America points are roughly like 1000 miles in other programs.
- Really heartwarming.
- My Fox News Happening Now appearance yesterday with tips for holiday travel: be aware, be nice, and be persistent. Know where your aircraft is coming and weather along to way to assist in planning, be kind to agents and they’ll be more helpful, and there are plenty of different touch points where you can ask for help if you aren’t getting what you need.
- American and Alaska are increasing codesharing across 16 additional routes, and it strikes me interesting that American will be helping to sell seats on 4 routes Alaska is operating out of Salt Lake City.
- Marriott adopts only the second and third words from Google’s motto. Don’t forget that it’s for your own good!

Watched the 4 minute 38 second Fox segment via the link. Great work, Gary. Best to be on Fox, most viewers + all those 5 star Bangkok hotels carry Fox.
ED
Good job on the Fox interview. The AS code share stuff with AA is interesting. I wish they would expand this more in the Eastern US where AS is weak. I agree that the SLC routes are interesting.
It’s not just Marriott, for it’s Hilton too, according to some.
@DaninMCI thanks!
@GUWONDER I’ve seen those reports but hand’t read a Hilton filing.
@ED I don’t think anyone was watching tv yesterday…! I was thrilled they gave me four and a half minutes, though!
I think I would refuse to be interviewed by anyone who constantly interrupts me, especially with a permanent smile on her face – – – not that anyone would ask for an interview with me…
American should let AS codeshare on flights out of ORD and DFW. That would add real value to AS flyers.
