5000 Bonus Miles for a 3 Night Rocketmiles Hotel Booking

PointsHound and Rocketmiles are the two major websites that award you frequent flyer miles when booking hotel rooms.

In general Rocketmiles has the biggest mileage offers, but they also have the fewest hotels and are in a limited – but growing – number of cities. (Some PointsHound bookings earn hotel loyalty points and status credits, while Rocketmiles does not offer this.)

Rocketmiles is offering 5000 bonus miles on top of the regular mileage earning of 1000 to 5000 miles per night on a 3 or more night booking consumed by March 31.

You can only earn the bonus one time and you start at this link when making your booking to qualify. The bonus is not stackable with other offers.

You get to choose mileage earning with any of the following programs:

Interestingly it appears that Delta is no longer an earning partner (not that I ever would have chosen the option — Delta miles don’t even expire so I don’t have need for the odd earning activity to extend the life of my account).

  1. Obviously they’re experimenting with what works, but personally I prefer the usual 2X offer as 3 nights is longer than I usually stay on business, and many vacation weekends are only 2 nights. Still, I’ll take a look and see if I can make this work.

As usual compare the price you get with and without RocketMiles. Often the prices RocketMiles lists are higher than what you’d see elsewhere so you may be buying your miles rather than getting them “free”.

  2. My family and I are 5 sharing a suite. The Rocketmiles site only has 4 persons per room. That implies that either they do not work with enough suite hotels to justify changing the interface or that they never got round to it. too bad.

  3. A couple of weeks ago stayed in Toronto for 2 nights at a Holiday Inn when rocket miles had the 5k miles bonus. Rate was actually cheaper than hotel website and I even got credit/points from Priority Club! Also wife and I are going to Vienna in late January and great chance to get 8k miles and a hotel for $80-$90 with breakfast. Will have to look into it a little more but could with out well with us depending on hotel location.
