Even touchless for TSA has benefits for me. I’ve seen some TSA at the podium touch my ID with grimy gloves that should’ve been changed 500 passengers ago.
TSA should install egates. Why have a screener wasting time with ID checks to start if it is going to be “touchless”. Reassign them to help speed up screening.
Ugh..when I go thru China I have to give up biometrics.. how stupid.. do t want that kind of invasiveness
@AdamH — completely agreed with you until your last sentence. TSA is overstaffed as is, wasting taxpayer funds. Install automation and lay off the affected employees.
Those machines look similar to the scanners I’ve seen TSA use at PDX – sans the camera.
As to automation and not having humans – how hard would it be to fool a machine with prosthetic/movie fx – that could fool a machine but not a real human ( ears covered by hair and other biometric points).
