News and notes from around the interweb:
- Did you know that Bill Gates owns Four Seasons? His Cascade Investment is taking its stake up to 71.25% by buying 23.75% from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal for $2.2 billion. (HT: @crucker)
- The most annoying spot in Las Vegas (Forum Shops @ Caesars)
- Unique excuse for not wearing a mask on a plane plus is this what I think it is on an American Airlines flight? (NSFW)
- Video inside Kabul airport post-U.S. departure
- 25% bonus on Marriott and IHG transfers to Aviaca LifeMiles
- The rise of Etihad and since it’s a puff piece, largely ignores the fall.
The Forum Shops is one of my favorite spots in Vegas, and while this part of it is annoying, this dude needs some Valium if he’s this pissed off about it.
Now one infuriating thing did happen to me when I was there last year, when some j*** bucket got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend. That was the ONLY time in this pandemic that I was glad to be wearing a mask – no one could see the scowl on my face.
So happy to be informed that Bill Gates is involved with the Four Seasons chain. Important to know the hotels to avoid booking for any reason whatsoever.
Walking along that indoor mall on LV always makes me feel like I’m an extra in “The Truman Show”.
Yes, I knew he owned a significant portion before. It is unfortunate as I don’t want to contribute earnings to a vile man with a globalist agenda, however, the chain has some of the best properties in some locations.
