Buy Air Canada Aeroplan Points For Just 1.14 Cents Apiece, Up To 1.125 Million Points

Air Canada Aeroplan is offering up to 125% bonus buying points through July 11.

Get a bonus of up to 125% when you buy points. Hurry, this offer drops to a bonus of up to 100% from Jul. 12-19.

  • You can buy or gift up to 500,000 miles plus your bonus (the annual purchase limit per account is 1 million miles).

  • When you buy with a U.S. credit card with U.S. billing address, there’s no tax.

  • A 125% bonus amounts to just over 1.1 U.S. cents per point.


Air Canada Business Class

You earn a 60% bonus on purchases between 3,000 and 20,000 points; 85% bonus on purchases of 25,000 to 50,000 points; and 125% bonus on purchases of 60,000 to 500,000 points. A 125% bonus equates to buying points at 1.14 U.S. cents per point.

I purchased miles with this offer last November. A 125% bonus was a no brainer for me and the only question was how big to go. Max out? That’s over $12,000 for 1.125 million miles.

  2. Just a note that Aeroplan awards do carry surcharges beyond actual taxes, although they are relatively mild. Also, be mindful of the expiration policy and ensure renewal of your miles.

    That said, at a purchase rate this low, I’m a buyer, even speculatively, as it’s very near to the points’ “floor” value and there are still sweet spots to be found in the program. So I bought a tranche yesterday.
