News and Notes from Around the Interweb:
- A week ago I shared how you can sta ck bonus after bonus earning loads of points for your stays at IHG Rewards hotels. Here’s another one for the list, 2000 points per stay for 60 days. Don’t register for it until you’re ready to stay because registering starts the clock.
- I have a short piece in this month’s Washingtonian on what changes locals can expect at National airport as a result of the American Airlines-US Airways merger. The biggest one? American customers will start flying more out of the C pier, trading Fuddruckers burgers for the superior Five Guys.
- American is targeting members for accelerated elite status earning and even including 500 mile upgrades in the offer. If you weren’t targeted you won’t be able to sign up, but watch your inbox.
- Uber cut UberX pricing in 16 markets (“In L.A., a ride from LAX to Hollywood, for instance, would cost $51 in a cab, but traffic permitting, an UberX would cost just $29.50.”).
- Promo code KPET is good for 15% off Best Available Rate at Kimpton hotels.
- You can join the 30,000+ people who see these deals and analysis every day — sign up to receive posts by email (just one e-mail per day) or subscribe to the RSS feed. It’s free. You can also follow me on Twitter for the latest deals. Don’t miss out!
Good Point on the Hanburgers, but loose Potbellies which has the best cookies in town.
How old is that diagram Contl is still on it and United no longer in the middle pier, not that I remember it ever there. I’ll miss the flights to JFK, hope they stay.
I got a similar AA Plat challenge offer back in November and it included this language: “Eligible airlines include American Airlines, American Eagle®, American Connection®, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines and Qantas as well as eligible codeshare flights.”
Any idea how to find out which flights are “eligible codeshare flights”?
Don’t understand the love of five guys. Eaten there twice…both times disappointed. Only American cheese???? Rather have Fudds.
Five guys is good but it is not a Fudds pounder with all the works on it…
I love UberX for one reason – the price – but if you told me that half the drivers had never set foot in my city before they picked me up I would probably believe you.
I agree. What do people see in five guys? Fuddruckers is way better.
Agree with others on Five Guys — I’ve never understood why people like it so much.
