The Etihad 3-bedroom first class Residence was apparently just a trial balloon.
Word has leaked from the Pan Arabia Enquirer about the new 9-bedroom villa:
Passengers flying with Etihad Airways soon won’t have to worry about baggage allowance – they’ll have an entire house to fill thanks to the Abu Dhabi-based airline’s luxurious new first class offering.
Located on the upper deck of Etihad’s newest fleet of planes, The Villa comprises a double bed, en-suite shower and nine-bedroom villa with living room, kitchen, study, maids room and infinity pool with Jacuzzi.
This 3000 square meter villa also features a 24-seat private cinema and “underground parking facility with space for up to 10 cars.”
This puts Meridien Airlines’ first class hot tub to shame.
Let’s see what Emirates announces today in response! (And whether the Dubai-based competitor of Etihad realizes that this report is satire.)

I’ll donate 42 cents to your kickstarter to fly this.
Etihad Airlines…..isn’t this the airline that is being accused of “slave laboring” their third-world employees? Abusing and misusing them? That’s a more important relevant story. Wouldn’t you say?
I wouldn’t. I’d say the report is hilarious. And many of us actually have a sense of humor. Wouldn’t you say? Eh, nevermind – don’t really care what bleeding heart, holier-than-thou’s have to say. 🙂
So where’s the $100,000 Kickstarter link? I’m also in for 42 cents.
Very nice, but will they stlll have space for my giraffe to roam?
The next step will be a suite so big they’ll need two aircraft to hold it! This will ground both aircraft but you’ll be having such a great time that you won’t mind the fact that you’re not going anywhere.
Add me to the list of people contributing to the potential kickstarter! I’ll go one better and donate double. 84 cents from me!
@Robert most of the talk has been about Qatar
Unrelated question for you. Will getting both business and personal Marriott premier cards earn person 30 nights credit a year? I assume so but ask if you know with any certainty.
I think everyone has not noticed that this is a “satire” website. Look at all the articles there – it’s their version of “The daily show” (even though there is some anti-semitic and anti-american articles masked as “satirical”).
And that I conclude the last paragraph with the word satire, and link above to an April Fools post on an over the top inflight product.
