There’s finally something good about the eclipse — free points.

Your Marriott Rewards and Twitter accounts need to be connected of course, but they give you points for that too.

Bear in mind that points earned via social don’t extend the expiration date of your account. And also that Marriott points transfer 3:1 into Starwood Preferred Guest. Points post quickly.

    Why would you waste your time, and more importantly our time, on this?

  6. Tried to reap the 250 Marriott points by attempting to connect with Twitter.
    This is what I saw:

    This application will be able to:
    Read Tweets from your timeline.
    See who you follow, and follow new people.
    Update your profile.
    Post Tweets for you.
    See your email address.

    Excuse me …??? … update my profile …? Are you sane in the head …? How about my bank balance, credit cards, brand of underwear …
    These guys have more than a couple screws loose !

  8. Just got my confirmation that at any given time, about 40% of people on the internet are angry about something.

  9. So do the 250 points to connect with Marriott via FB, Twitter and Instagram not count for extending expiring, either? Shoot – still looking for a way to extend without a stay!
