American Airlines Distances Themselves From Spicy Flight Attendant: ‘No Longer A Team Member’

Ex-Republic Airways flight attendant Cierra Huffman manages to put out the worst advice most likely to go viral to her millions of followers on TikTok.

Her advice posts are dubious, like buying on Tuesdays for the cheapest tickets, and assigning yourself a seat at the back of the plane to improve your chances of an upgrade. Her stories of inflight antics are equally questionable.

For instance she’s claimed that groups of passengers who’d never met before and a new pilot joined the mile high club on a quick regional jet flight to Nashville, and she advises giving gift cards to flight attendants to secure a first class upgrade. She makes this all up to promote her OnlyFans?

If there’s ever been anyone to give flight attendants a bad name it’s this one. She didn’t even work for American Airlines, as far as I can tell, just for a regional carrier that has flown for American (and Delta). Yet American is still having to distance themselves: “She is no longer a team member of American Airlines.”

The lesson here is that contract airlines reflect on the carrier whose brand they fly under. She wasn’t an ‘American Airlines’ employee, but American still has to answer for her. And that means the quality of that airline and its staff matter. It isn’t enough to say “not us, different airline.”

  1. Didn’t Gary try defending this lady on multiple occasions? Looks like he’s trying to do damage control lol

  2. This is American’s own fault for having regional jet staff wear the same effective outfit as mainline. AA should make these ppl wear burlap sacks until they move to mainline. The Air Wisconsin crew should have spotted cow a la Gateway 2000 uniforms.

  3. On regional jets when the upgrade list is empty, I have seen flight attendants upgrade passengers they like, or take pity on — such as the elderly. So the gift card “trick” may have merit. Though on these short flights it might be equally cheap to buy up to first class officially.

  4. “She would be a lot spicy if she worked for the worlds most premium airline, Delta.” – Tim Dunn

  5. So, couple things. She actually said to NOT give gift cards to flight attendants, she said give them to ticketing agents or gate agents. She’s actually 100% correct about the airlines flying planes with defective equipment. As an aviation mechanic, can confirm.

  6. AA well known for their awful customer service, the horrible treatment of the disabled and their equipment should worry about things like that and dubious media posts!

  7. When I heard on the news that Sierra Mist was being canceled at the end of this year, I thought of an entirely different meaning.

  8. Ok the other hand, a hotel brand will say “oh that location is a franchise it’s too bad the staff punched you but there’s nothing we can do.”

  9. I’m a regional employee, but when and where people see me all they see is American Airlines. Everyone who wears the American Airlines uniform is very aware that we are not allowed to make inappropriate post wearing our uniforms or not if we are stating that we are employees. If we are stating that we are employees then we are sending a message of representation in one way or another. Every corporation or LLC is considered an entity. That entity is represented by the people who work for it and even, in our case, the regional companies that represent it. When people have a bad experience on a regional carrier they don’t say I had a bad experience on such and such regional carrier they say I had a bad experience on American. Those same people don’t want to hear, “Well that was the regional carrier, that wasn’t American.” As far as they are concerned it’s American. SO good on American for saying no she is not one of us, because she is not and generally speaking there is a list for upgrades. It is rare that is no one on the upgrade list for 1st class.
We are not supposed to accept gifts. Some times team members will give gifts to each other, but honestly we are not supposed to accept gifts from passengers.

  10. When I heard on the news that Sierra Mist was being canceled at the end of this year. This is American’s own fault for having regional jet staff wear the same effective outfit as mainline. Avaan Excess is Domestic and International Luggage Delivery Service in India.

  11. I watches are posts as entertainment.. no harm no foul.. don’t believe everything you see on internet, people..

  12. Unless American is suing the operator for trademark infringement, a plane that says “American Airlines” on the side is, as far as I’m concerned, an American Airlines plane.

  13. From what I can tell, like everyone on OnlyFans type sites, she is a whore, a prostitute. What do you expect from a person with such morals? The truth?

  14. As a flight crew member with a regional carrier….I have this to say:

    1) We are NOT to misrepresent on social media. And we are advised to be cautious about what we post to social media in uniform. We get that information when we’re hired.
    2) Regional aircrafts do not say AMERICAN AIRLINES on them. They say AMERICAN EAGLE.
    3) Because of the contracts and American being the superior carrier, we ALL wear the same uniform.
    4) We are told NOT to accept gifts however many do because many times that Starbucks gift card may be the only way that FA will be able to eat for the day as tons of FAs working regional carriers are extremely underpaid.
    5) We don’t upgrade favorites. Most of the time First class is full. And there’s an upgrade waitlist in case someone doesn’t show up. The agents are the ones who go according to the list and we just relay the message.
    6) We don’t “move over to mainline” as if we are promoted. It doesn’t work that way. Totally different hiring process, totally different training. And a lot of regional FAs prefer not to for the simple fact that going mainline means you’ll be on reserve (on call) for the majority of your career, which means less predictably with your schedule.
    7) These comments concerning flight crew are very disheartening because without the regional carriers 85% of the areas would not be serviced and passengers would never make it to a main hub. We operate nearly 70% of the routes for American mainline. They need us just as much as the passengers need us.
    8) Being called a “trash collection girl” is so demeaning.
    9) Whoever this girl is should not be working for the industry. PERIOD!
    10) There is only ONE regional carrier that is OWNED by American Airlines. All others are partially owned.

  15. Anon…my bad. I was only thinking about mine. Wheni started flying it was only one. Lolol And you’re right!! Things have changed over the years.

  16. The woman got what she deserved. Even lowly American Airlines must protect the brand (as weak as it is) from this type of brand infringement. I’m willing to bet the she won’t get a job with a major US carrier. Maybe Ryanair in the UK…nah…even they have a “reputation”. The problem with today’s generation is they don’t understand that their stupid use of social media can bring them down like a lead brick. From SNL…”buh bye”. I wish that the major hotel chains would do the same thing to rogue hotels that don’t represent the headquarter’s values. “You fly our flag…you will play by our rules or….buh bye!”

  17. TikTok may be the last place from which I would seek advice or even use to gather information. Still, if I worked for a regional airline I would find this alleged flight attendant to be infuriating in her incompetence and selfishness

  18. She only worked for a very short time as a Flight Attendant. She was fired after a very short time. Most of her posts are pure nonsense.

  19. It would be nice if someone reported on the poisonous uniform issues with AA, DL, AL, and many others. There is a Facebook group with over 8000 members (Uniform Health Issues (private)) that gets everything from those uniforms, from rashes to baldness to cancer, and makes women infertile. How do I know? My husband of over 20 years passed away from it, and I dealt with it for over ten years. When I say rashes, I mean every night, I had to bandage him like a mummy; otherwise, he would bleed all over the bed. He was hospitalized many times for Cellulitis and some other things that I can’t remember, nor do I wish to. But I have a million photos and official reports to back it up. Have you heard of Alden Wicker? She wrote a book about Poisons in Fashion and Airline Uniforms that are specifically problematic. Arsenic, chromium, formaldehyde, Agent Orange (not even kidding), dyes, pesticides, you name it. You would think AA had to pay $1,000,000 per affected employee FAs, Agents, etc., which is news, but nobody wants to touch it; it is too hot of a subject, and too much money is involved. Alden was pulled 10 minutes before appearing live on National TV and reporting. She made a TikTok about it and many more. I realize that many people are not reacting to any of these toxins as others segment of the populace, but still, the Airlines knew and decided to go ahead anyway. Having a few lawsuits is cheaper than changing all the uniforms again and checking for them to be safe. It is Capitalist: money at all costs, no matter the consequences, as long as they can be paid off. Read her book “TO DYE FOR,” yes, dye, not die (in many instances, this was the result).

  20. Would have never heard of her if it wasn’t for Gary’s obsession with posting an article about her at least once a month

  21. Rachel, thank you for your clarification with the differences of AA and AA Eagle.
Most importantly, THANK YOU AND ALL THE FLIGHT ATTENDANTS FOR THE JOB YOU DO!
We so often forget, and some don’t really know that a flight attendant’s number one role is the safety of the passengers….everything else is secondary.
United Airlines did a promotional video showing the training a flight attendant must go through. This type of video should be mandatory viewing before anyone can board a flight.
Merry Christmas to you and all your family/friends that you may miss while catering to us.

  22. Thank goodness, airlines have fired other employees for less. She needs to stick to only fans and not making a joke out of other airline employees.

I did enjoy the bit about joining the mile high club in the crew rest though. She worked for Republic that operates E175’s. The only crew rest on regional jets is the small galley LOL.

  23. “Smore says: She’s actually 100% correct about the airlines flying planes with defective equipment. As an aviation mechanic, can confirm.”

She said more than that. She said it was intentional. And if you “can confirm,” I assume that means you have direct knowledge of specific incidents, which means you reported it when it happened, right? Right?

Rachel, the plural of aircraft is aircraft.

  25. All the rotten things American Airlines has done to people to permanently tarnish their reputation and they’re worried about one person posting stuff, some of which is actually good advice?

  26. Fred: no shit Sherlock. You ever heard of autocorrect?? I’m sure it was a typo given the rest of her post was free of grammatical errors. Smh

  27. If people who buy a ticket on American Airlines get out on the “contractor airline” flight. Of course it reflects in the brand. Buy a ticket for an American airline flight. It’s on American airline to give you a legit experience.
