American Airlines Flight Turned Into A German Night Club, But Who Brought The Molly? [Roundup]

News and notes from around the interweb:

  • Take some molly, fly American Airlines.

  • Atlanta airport is getting a food hall on the F concourse, but it’s really more like a small food court and without a focus on independent providers.

  • Air France KLM Flying Blue has an ‘all banks campaign’ offering a 20% bonus on points conversions. But it’s not all banks! In fact the only participating U.S. card program is Barclays! When was the last time that moribund points transfer program had an offer?

  • Another near-miss at the Austin airport

  • GHA Discovery travel survey for $10 in rewards (HT: Loyalty Lobby)

  • Russia has entered the war albeit so far only in an adjacent manner. Hezbollah has entered more directly.

The Biden administration is pushing Israel to allow, and Egypt to accept, Palestinian refugees but of course that also creates a path for the worst elements to leave the region and make it onward to Europe and even the U.S. Meanwhile, what comes after crushing Hamas? Is it a replacement that’s worse than Hamas? Does Israel have to govern Gaza, and with an ongoing insurgency?

  • More governments running evacuation flights from Israel.

  • Notes on Ghana

  • The Wynn golf course is amazing for its size and greenery in the midst of the desert, meanwhile the still-new Sphere in Las Vegas is amazing on… many levels.

  1. That guy has clearly never been to a nightclub in Germany. That strobe effect looks more “Cincinnati night club”.

  2. “@AmericanAir this is pretty annoying and not safe for people who suffer from seizures. Not thrilled to spend the next two hours in a German night club while I’m trying to sleep”…..hey John Matthews, would you like cheese and crackers with that whine? Good lord, snowflakes like this will be the death of our culture. Suck it up buttercup, it’s just a damn light.

  3. Even though I don’t get much more than occasional ten-minute naps onboard, I always have one or two eyeblinds leftover from some classy flights handy in my carryon, along with my prescriptions, etc. I try to numb myself to painful aspects of flying commericial passenger jet.

And yes, I have experienced a Cincinatti nightclub, except that it was Latin disco night, not Kraftwerk disco night. Yeah, I’d wonder if the ambient lighting was reflecting integral engine misfiring. Scary.

  4. If I was on a plane with those strobe lights, paramedics would need to meet the plane and carry me off!
