News and notes from around the interweb:
- Kuwait government will DNA test everyone including tourists. I know where I’m not going for summer vacation.
- A year ago Wyndham went to a flat 15,000 points for hotel night redemptions from small town Days Inns to beachfront resorts. They rolled back the changes that boosted most of those top properties from 16,000 to 50,000 in 2013. And they increased the cheapest properties from 5500 to 15,000. They’ve spent $100 million marketing the changes which is strange because I haven’t seen much in media.
- They’ve added 5 million members to the program for a total of 44 million members.
- Hotel redemptions are up 70%
- The proportion of redemptions that are for hotel stays grew from 55% to 75%
Wyndham Grand Rio Mar, Puerto Rico
- They’ve added 5 million members to the program for a total of 44 million members.
- State-backed (Delta partner) Saudia has launched a new low fare carrier. And they really want you to get their marketing message. They’ve named the airline Flyadeal.
- Up to 50,000 Club Carlson points for stays through July 31
- Debris found in Mozambique are ‘almost certainly’ pieces of Malaysia flight MH370
Thanks for posting the Club Carlson information. It will probably benefit someone. Personally, I would pay 50,000 points not to have to stay 15 nights – at most of their properties – between now and the end of July.
About the DNA sampling: Wow. A hacker’s dream come true.
