Southwest Airlines is running an award sale offering 20% off all flight redemptions – but you have to book by Thursday, March 31 to take advantage of the discount. This promotion will apply to all awards booked using promo code SAVE20NOW for travel through May 25, 2022.

A year ago Southwest devalued its points by 6.5% however this discount takes that devaluation back and then some.

It’s a great opportunity to look at the pricing of any Southwest Airlines award tickets booked for travel through late May. Award prices are based on the current paid fare, so may be higher or lower. In fact since you can always cancel a Southwest award for no fee after booking, you should check back once you’ve booked a ticket to see whether the price has gone down – cancel and rebook if it has in order to save Rapid Rewards points.

And since Southwest awards are fully cancellable this 20% off sale is a good opportunity to book any speculative travel you may think you have over the next couple of months – take advantage of the current discount and if you wind up not traveling just cancel the booking in advance.
