Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton is reportedly a jerk at airport security. The Heisman Trophy winner who led the Carolina Panthers to a Super Bowl 50 appearance, who has the most career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, apparently tried to skip the queue but TSA wasn’t having it.

It’s not the first time he’s been treated just like anyone else at the checkpoint.

What’s interesting to me is that report that he was queueing for CLEAR. Several years ago he did not even have PreCheck. He still may not, in fact CLEAR can be more useful to those who do not since you can skip long lines even though you still get the same screening. It’s also interesting that he’s reported to have gotten into an altercation with TSA rather than with CLEAR employees.

While at the University of Florida, Newton was arrested for stealing a laptop. Charges were dropped after he completed a pretrial diversion program. Since this happened 17 years ago it shouldn’t be an issue for expedited security programs.
Always one to court controversy, Newton recently criticized women who “can’t cook” and “don’t know when to be quiet” and criticized former teammates on the Carolina Panthers as a “locker room of losers” as well as Bill Belichick for his relationship with a 24-year-old, suggesting it was a distraction from football responsibilities. Sounds like a great role model for his eight children with multiple partners.
Regardless of whether Cam Newton is a jerk, Bill Belichick does not pass the Perv Equation. Belichick is 73. Seventy-three divided by 2 plus 7 is 43.5. “Dating” a 24-year-old does not pass the test.
Heck, if Belichick were 43.5 he would STILL not pass the Perv Test with a 24-year-old. So, he’s a double-perv.
On the ‘early years’ referenced above, I ‘memba the laptop debacle. Was only a slight distraction from all the winning at UF those years. It worked out just fine for him anyway; transferred to Auburn, won the trophy, played for NFL, etc. So, if I can muster up any empathy here, it’s that it must be tough going from all that ‘glory’ to a has-been. Still, get of the Amex Platinum cards, use the CLEAR and Pre-Check credits, sir. And, be slightly ahead of a few others, without breaking any rules. And thank you to the TSA agent for doing their job and attempting fairness, regardless of who’s in-line.
Every time I go through security or line up to get on a plane, it’s seems like there is always someone trying to cut through the line. Jerks are everywhere. Sometimes they are clowns who can throw a football.
