Marriott Revamps Premium Credit Card, Launches Two New Mid-Tier Cards
Marriott is introducing two new mid-tier cards – Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express® Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™ Card from Chas – and the premium Marriott Bonvoy BrilliantTM American Express® Card is getting a new slate of benefits.
I don’t quite see the argument for the mid-tier cards, but the premium card product is going to appeal to a lot of customers that stay with Marriott but don’t earn Platinum status or above on their own.
American Express Transfer Bonus Bonanza: 12 Programs, Up To 30% Throughout September
American Express is offering 12 simultaneous bonuses for transfers from Membership Rewards to airlines and hotels. They’ve only ever done this once before. It’s a cacophony of opportunity for those who have their transferable points. The offers run through September 30, except for Marriott and Hilton which runs through October 31.
Bilt Rewards Adds 3 New Airline Transfer Partners: British Airways, Iberia And Aer Lingus
Bilt Rewards is adding 3 new airline transfer partners, which will give them 12 airline partners and 14 transfer partners overall. In addition to being able to transfer Bilt points to American, united, Air Canada, Turkish, Hyatt and more you can now transfer points to British Airways – and coming next month will be able to also transfer to Iberia and Aer Lingus.
Check Your Customized Bonus For Spending On Amex Cards
American Express is running several offers to encourage spending on their own-branded (Membership Rewards) cards like the Gold and Platinum cards. 25% Transfer Bonus From Citi To Avianca LifeMiles
Right now one of Citi’s transfer partners – Avianca LifeMiles – is offering a 25% bonus on Citi transfers through August 31. What’s interesting is that this is LifeMiles making the offer – they want to encourage the transfers from Citi, so Citi pays them for the miles – rather than Citi making the offer.
Chase Launching New Travel Portal This Year, To Become Third Largest Travel Agency
This spring Chase revealed that they would launch ChaseTravel.com this year. They are still on track and fleshing out more detail about what it will look like.
They’ve expected the product to generate $10 billion of sales in 2023 and $15 billion by 2025, making it the third largest travel agency behind Expedia and Booking.com. Already Chase generates 25% of total leisure travel spend on its cards.
Capital One’s New Spark Travel Elite Won’t Show Up On Personal Credit
Capital One launched the new Spark Travel Elite card this week. It’s the ‘small business version of Venture X’ and has an initial bonus offer to earn up to 250,000 miles.
Currently the card is only available through Capital One business relationship managers, though that’s expected to change and the card should become available more broadly. Existing customers of Capital One business cards except for Spark Cash Plus are eligible to apply for the product.
Capital One’s New Premium Business Card With 250,000 Mile Bonus Offer
Capital One Business’ new product, Spark Travel Elite, has an up front bonus up to 250,000 miles (!). Think of it as the small business version of Venture X. Right now it’s available only to Capital One customers with Relationship Managers but will become more broadly available.
