A passenger on board the 24 year old Embraer 145 regional jet (registration N653AE) operated by American’s wholly-owned regional carrier Piedmont had to use the lavatory prior to departure. But this wasn’t just any bathroom visit.
The deceased passenger collapsed in the aisle after coming out of the restroom and could not be revived. Crew tried to move her in a wheelchair to an empty business class seat, but couldn’t make it down the aisle. So they placed her in an empty seat beside other passengers – who say they were told not to move elsewhere in the cabin.

A United Airlines passenger wound up restrained on board Sunday night’s redeye flight 1494 from San Francisco to Chicago O’Hare after this “big dude kept coming up the aisle towards the front of the plane” getting into “heated confrontations with the crew,” according to a passenger on board. At one point the man got within “an inch” of “their noses” and “eventually started yelling really loudly.”
Alaska Airlines flight 2221 was preparing for takeoff on Saturday morning when a passenger began exhibiting erratic behavior: he was “saying weird stuff” and rocking back and forth in his seat. As his behavior deteriorated, a flight attendant was summoned, and the passenger grabbed the hair of a woman nearby. That’s when the flight attendant delivered a punch to the man’s throat.
