Matthew Lunn married his wife Carly on the Greek island of Rhodes. And they took a wedding photo that’s gone viral outside the monastery of St Paul. They’re in their wedding outfits, him sans pants, and she appears to perform a sex act.
The consequence of this photo apparently is a ban on all foreign weddings on the island of Rhodes.

Bishop Kyrillos has announced a wedding ban at the monastery. The President of the Lindos community on Rhodes says he feels bad but foreigners just can’t get married on Rhodes anymore,
We are Greek and we cherish our traditions and the sanctity of our religious sites. We cannot allow this disgusting behaviour to prevail.’
I have hundreds of soon-to-be brides from Britain and all over the world calling me today in tears because of this decision.
Shame on those two for the damage they have done. Would they have done the same in their homeland; in front of a British chapel, a Jewish temple, a Muslim mosque? They would have been beheaded by Muslims!

Couples can of course travel to Rhodes. They can get married. Just not in the monastery which is apparently where people want to get married on Rhodes.
That won’t cut down on destination weddings, just destination weddings to Greece and Rhodes. Which can’t be good for either.
For their part the couple just thought they were being funny and didn’t expect posting their photo on Facebook to go viral.
Personally I prefer the couple who shot special wedding photos in Iceland to protest Delta losing their luggage.

The Church of Greece is VERY conservative, so I’m absolutely not surprised in the slightest. I’m honestly more surprised they /ever/ allowed non-orthodox weddings at the monastery. There are literally thousands of islands in Greece; would-be couples have plenty to choose from. The photo was rather tasteless, and I can imagine just about any religious authority being upset if such a thing occurred on their property.
Skanky-ass losers.
Greece should just ban them from entering for life and not punish thousands of innocent people who have done nothing.

2017 or not , monastery or not . If people think this is ok , there is something wrong with this world. If you accept this, you’ve been brain washed and you probably accept anything.
