Policy bodycam footage from Dallas – Fort Worth airport just went live showing an American Airlines flight attendant who says his name is Chris, slurring with pants falling down, drunk in uniform trying to board a flight.
He admitted to “a champagne and a half.” Police were called after he reportedly “came barreling up the jet bridge” and shoved gate staff.
The crewmember tried to get out of it by telling officers “my dad is NYPD… he’s the GOAT” but officers cuffed him – right away for public intoxication though he faced other charges, too. He resists during the handcuffing and officers called for leg restraints and a spit hood after he spit on one of them as well – right in the eye.
During the altercation he racially targeting a supervisor (“Why is that Indian woman dragging my bag?”) while staff secured his belongings. The supervisor appears to search Chris’s bag and removes a stack of liquor mini‑bottles.
Later, in the back seat of a police car, the flight attendant alternated between pleading to go home and continuing agitation. He kicked the door despite multiple times and was told he’d face “felony criminal mischief” for vehicle damage. An officer also states “public intox, assault, harassment of a public servant” (spitting on an officer). They keep the spit hood on and note he’s under arrest.
He was about 6 weeks on the job (which makes it unusual he’d be working lead), and reported that he was deadheading. Commenters familiar with the matter suggested he was supposed to work lead/purser on the trip and that the mini bottles may have been taken from the aircraft.
One of the officers notes, “never a dull moment” – though as the Burt Lancaster voiceover reminds in COPS, “All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
Showing up drunk is bad when it’s a passenger. A flight attendant, in uniform, headed to work – pushing past gate agents, spitting on an officer, isn’t going to end well. Pants down, “dad is NYPD,” just underscores it.
While I understand that United and Air Canada flight attendants are allowed to drink while deadheading if they are merely positioning to work the next day, even that isn’t common practice more broadly. There’s usually zero tolerance of alcohol in uniform even when still sober which wasn’t the case here.
Some of my favorite observations online so far,
“My dad is NYPD, my pants are MIA, my brain cells are DOA, I have exceeded my BAC, and now I am dealing with the APD.”
“Went from American Airlines to Alcoholics Anonymous real quick!”
“Flight 187 to Unemployment, now boarding.”
“Entered as a flight attendant, exited as Hannibal Lecter.” (spit hood and wheelchair)
“How much did you drink?” — pants fall down — ‘case closed.’

Commenter @chrisssss10 on YouTube claimed to be flight attendant, describing this as his “rock bottom,” says he went to rehab, was fired, and has been sober since the month of the incident.
This story reminds me of Parker (Former American Airlines CEO) with 3 DWI’s. The only good news the young man was not driving and nobody got hurt.
There are a few ‘Chris’ commenters on here. Well, fellas, you alright? @Chris, @CHRIS?
Wonder who interviewed this guy? Perhaps there should be an investigation into the hiring process.
Not surprised at all! They think that they are above the law, thank goodness, here lately, they are being exposed!
Yeah but flight attendants are basically cops (they like to tells us that) so he should have just gotten a courtesy ride home from his “brothers”.
This new champagne that AA is serving must be rocket fuel. I wonder if he had a headache the next day.
Oh and 1990, no, it wasn’t me. I have a real job not a pretend one.
@Caroline K. Been drinking a lot of spite lately?
