Fare Alert: Business Class Roundtrip To Russia From $1622

There’s currently business class tickets between New York and Russia – either Moscow or St. Petersburg – from just $1622 roundtrip with the transatlantic portion of the journey on oneworld member Finnair. That’s an amazing fare, and it’s available exactly when you’d want to make the trip whether you want the best weather or to steal an election.

Flights between Helsinki and Russia will be codeshares either on Aeroflot or Nordic Regional (which is part-owned by Finnair). I chose the slightly pricier Nordic Regional connecting flights because those book into business class.

Key details of fare basis IFLE2US2:

  • 21 day advance purchase required
Valid for travel commencing April 1 – October 30
    Helsinki stopover adds $100
Must ticket by February 29 (but the fare may not last until then)
  • $250 change fee
  • $250 to cancel and refund prior to departure

You will probably choose to credit a Finnair ‘I’ fare to either American AAdvantage or Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. If you choose to make the trip bear in mind a visa is required for U.S. citizens.

This story was cosigned by Jim Acosta, Zachary Cohen, Dana Bash and Jeremy Herb. Could not resist teasing you for being up to date on the most recent get Trump narrative.

Nevertheless, I would really love to go to Russia. Thanks for the heads up.

Unfortunately, I am fully booked up this year. Planned and purchased several tickets to Asia (not China). Hope I do not catch the coronavirus. Of course, all diseases come to the New York City subways, so maybe I am actually not risking anything.

  2. @Leo hamel – when i posted this the fare was available across pretty much all channels, there were no tricks needed [I have not checked if the fare is still available]
