Flight Attendants Claim Their Crew Hotel is Haunted, Refuse to Fly to Chicago

Air India cabin crew are asking not to be assigned to the airline’s Chicago flights until the carrier assigns a new crew hotel.

“[F]earing for their lives” after “witnessing of paranormal activities” in their current hotel, the airline is investigating.

An official of the Air India stated that an investigation has been initiated regarding the claims.

Deputy Chief Cabin crew wrote a letter to management about ‘paranormal activity and negative energies’ reported in their Chicago cabin crew hotel. ANI accessed the complaint letter filed by the ‘spooked’ crew.

According to one complaint, a “[m]ajority of the crew are facing negative energies” because of paranormal activity at their assigned lodging. Crew choose to share rooms not wanting to be alone, and may not get enough rest.

In Austin Hyatt’s Driskill and the Omni are said to be haunted, though I imagine most crew would be happy with either property. In Chicago though stay away from the Congress Plaza Hotel.

I tend to think something like Sherwood Forest could be going on here, perhaps hotel management trying to spook cabin crew so they’re afraid to steal from the hotel’s buffet.

  1. What babies! Many American flight attendants have been flying with ‘negative energies’ for eons without complaint. It’s only the passengers who grumble.

  2. I’ve had the displeasure of working at a Chicago hotel that hosted Air India captains… They really do regard themselves as God’s gifts to the world, I am not surprised at all by this claim by Air India crews… Anything to create drama.

  3. Who the hell in their right mind flies ANY Indian airline anyhow? Now THAT would be spooky.

  4. As a manager in the transportation industry, I’ve heard a lot of reasons why crews don’t want to stay in the assigned hotel, but never ghosts!

  5. Wait a minute… The Congress Plaza Hotel is on South Michigan Avenue, just outside the Loop. It’s 20 miles or more from O’Hare, and more than an hour away in traffic. I have trouble believing Air India puts their crews up there, rather than a hotel within 5 miles of the airport.

Do they make the crews ride the “L” from O’Hare to near the hotel, and walk the 3-4 blocks, too?

  6. ‘Crew choose to share rooms not wanting to be alone, and may not get enough rest.’ No kidding!

  7. The hotel is well known to be the most haunted in Chicago. They actually stop selling rooms that have continual complaints/reports of “stuff”. Part of the reason why it’s so cheap. Beautiful fresco on the lobby ceiling though.

  8. What’s the name of the hotel? Above you only say “stay away from the Congress Plaza Hotel.”
