Hi Gary, random question: 4 days ago I redeemed 90k AA mi in first class one-way AUH-LAX nonstop on Etihad. My AA account shows the itinerary and a record locator, but aa.com is showing that the reservation is “on request”. I assume this is because the ticket is with AA partner Etihad, but what would explain such a long delay to ticket? The outbound SFO-Lhr-Auh F award (thru AA) on Etihad ticketed in a matter of hours. I made the return reservation on a Thursday so perhaps the weekend delayed things, but what do you think is going on? Any advice other than waiting?
@Marc you don’t say how far out the travel is, they do prioritize based on close-in bookings, and there’s been lots of weather disruptions in Texas so that can delay things. But if things aren’t ticketed come the morning I’d give American a call.
The free avios link is not working (I hope there is a way that you can fix it as I would like some free Avios).
